Equally, Private Equity M&A lawyers who are attracted to specialising in secondaries are very welcome. U.S. law firms have more to celebrate than just #IndependenceDay as they continue to outpace British law firms by U.K. revenue 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ... The latest Law.com International rankings underscore the strategic expansion of U.S. law firms in London. Leading American firms such as Latham & Watkins, Kirkland & Ellis, and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP now surpass traditional British firms like Clyde & Co, Macfarlanes, and Simmons & Simmons in generating U.K. revenues. Key Insights: - Top Performers: MC firms, Linklaters, Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer continue to dominate the U.K. market by revenue. - Financial Growth: Clifford Chance and Freshfields reported impressive revenue increases of nearly 10% and 13%, respectively. - U.S. Presence: 11 of the top 30 firms by revenue in the U.K. are U.S.-based, showcasing their growing influence. - Latham & Watkins and Kirkland & Ellis: Lead U.S. firms by U.K. revenue, with increases of approximately 7% and 6%. - Simpson Thacher & Bartlett: Achieved a remarkable 20% revenue growth in the U.K. Simon Branigan of Linklaters attributes their success to a robust M&A practice and a comprehensive service offering. This recent pay rise follows a trend among prestigious City law firms that significantly increased NQ lawyer salaries to £150,000 earlier in the year.
