Situated on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau at an average altitude of 4,700 meters, the Yulong Copper Mine faces extreme weather conditions and high UV radiation. Solmax contributed to the construction of the mine’s waste containment project, chosen for the durability and reliability of its products in harsh conditions. Solmax supplied GSE® HD geomembrane for the waste dump, intercepting reservoir, retaining dam, and reservoir area anti-seepage system. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who connected with us at GEOANZ#2, Melbourne. Your presence made the event truly memorable. We appreciate your support and are excited to continue these valuable conversations and collaborations. Congratulations to Tony Tong Kwan Shen, our Senior Technical Engineer, on being awarded the Best Young Oral Presenter at the Conference. Tony presented his topic on “Innovative Enhanced Drainage Geotextiles Applied in Transportation Infrastructure, Landfill and Recreation Area”. An excellent achievement and we couldn't be prouder of your success. Well done, Tony! Our founder, Jacques Cote, who is also the Chairman of the IGS Foundation Board of Trustees, delivered a speech in support of the Foundation at the GEOANZ#2 event. The IGS Foundation aims to advance geosynthetics education and promote the responsible use of geosynthetic technology globally, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to create a better and more sustainable planet for everyone.
