Taz Despard will swap the Pilbara for Paris, heading to the Olympic city to watch son Jacob line-up in the Australian men's 4 x 100m relay. Taz, and partner Sherona, are both Mining Operators at Roy Hill and have taken time away from their roles to be in France for this auspicious occasion. One of a large cohort of veterans working at Roy Hill, Taz has been with the business for five years and is constantly amazed at the generosity and contribution of Executive Chairman, Mrs Gina Rinehart AO, towards Australia’s Olympians and ex-defence personnel. “It is over and above what anyone else does and I am always so proud to work here,” said Taz. Roy Hill is a partner of the Australian Olympic Committee through Hancock Prospecting and wishes the entire Australian team the best of luck in Paris. #RoyHill #Paris2024 #OlympicGames #GoAussies #AllezAus
With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games tantalising close, it is relevant and timely to read the Minerals Council of Australia - 30 Things: Sports Edition. It reaffirms the crucial role that mining, and the minerals it unearths, plays in all aspects of our lives, a message that should not be lost as we cheer on Australia’s athletes in Paris. Through Hancock Prospecting, Roy Hill are partners of the Australian Olympic Committee. A partnership that reflects the unwavering commitment of our Chairman, Mrs Gina Rinehart AO, to Australian sport at all levels and her longstanding commitment of our nation's top athletes. We hope you enjoy reading about the countless ways mining contributes to sport. We did! As Mrs Rinehart says, “When mining does well, Australia does well. When mining doesn’t do well, nor do Australians”. #RoyHill #Paris2024

As part of Roy Hill’s sponsorship of Lightscape at Kings Park, our community team had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with a group of talented Indigenous children from the Pilbara, to showcase their cultural heritage and identity. Several pieces of artwork were produced by children participating in the Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation and Roy Hill school holiday program, along with additional paintings from students at Strelley Community School. The artworks were digitally transformed and made into beautiful light installations that are a highlight of this year’s Lightscape event. To celebrate the young artists and their contributions, Roy Hill facilitated a trip to Perth last month for them to experience Lightscape and see their original artworks light up Kings Park. The children were given the VIP treatment, including making the most of access to food trucks and icecream stand! The excursion to Perth was, for most of the children, the first time on a plane. In addition to visiting Lightscape the kids also enjoyed ten pin bowling and Perth Zoo. Lightscape runs through until Friday 28 July. #RoyHill #Lightscape #Pilbara #ArtInstallation #CommunityEngagement
This year’s NAIDOC theme was ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud.’ and at Roy Hill, we spent the week celebrating with a host of activities across all our sites. The celebrations culminated at our Remote Operations Centre in Perth, with a smoking ceremony, music, traditional foods and more wrapping up a very important week for Roy Hill and our nation. Roy Hill is committed to providing employment and economic opportunities to Indigenous Australians and supports many initiatives aimed at promoting and preserving Indigenous culture. We work closely with the Traditional Owners on whose land Roy Hill operates, the Kariyarra, the Palyku and the Nyiyaparli People to promote education, training, employment and business opportunities. #RoyHill #NAIDOC2024
They say Rome wasn’t built in a day. Just ask Italian-born Giovanni Firmani who recently completed a gruelling 1,072km off-road cycling adventure along the Munda Biddi track from Mundaring to Albany. The journey also had its own special meaning for the Principal Water Modeller as he sought to raise funds for a special not-for-profit organisation 'Vivere per Amare’, set up in memory of his cousin, Gianluca, who passed away at 39 after battling a rare neuroendocrine tumour. He said: “I wanted to do something to remember and honour him – he was a very special person.”

What is there to like about our nom! Children program? 🤔 We are nurturing confidence through healthy eating choices. 🙌🙌 Through nom! Children we are helping to increase parents’ confidence in applying practices to support healthy eating in young children, by empowering them to take control of their child’s health and development. 🤗 We are pleased to announce that Roy Hill has signed a three-year agreement as Foodbank WA’s Community Builder Partner for nom! Children to support parents in the Pilbara. 😍 The program that has also the support from Telethon7, will benefit parents with young children across Western Australia. It will allow Foodbank’s nutritionists to deliver four week long trips to the Pilbara region and provide an increased number of nutrition education sessions across the State. 💜 Read more about this partnership - https://lnkd.in/gR4UVwiD
