Exciting Update from Our Network Member, Universal Field Robots! Universal Field Robots(UFR) is pushing the boundaries of safety and efficiency in mining with its UFR AutoPrep system. Designed for production hole preparation and surveying, this robotic system significantly reduces the need for manual labour in hazardous environments, providing real-time survey data without production delays. Traditionally, drill hole preparation is a labour-intensive task that puts workers at risk of injury and exposure to toxic contaminants. UFR AutoPrep, however, can be operated remotely or by a single operator from a sealed cabin, drastically reducing these risks. After successful trials at South32’s Cannington Mine and GOLD FIELDS’ Agnew gold mine, UFR AutoPrep is set to revolutionize underground mining operations. While the first release still requires an operator, future advancements aim to enable fully autonomous, teleremote operations.
