🔑 Top 5 Values for Entrepreneurial success & Scaling your business 📈
Starting a business can be one of the hardest and most rewarding things you will ever do.
In my role I am very fortunate to be able to spend lots of time with successful people, Advisers, CEO’s, boards, HNW investors etc.. and every time I am with a successful person I try to get a grasp of the values that make them successful.
I have found that, navigating the journey to build a successful business whether that be a book of clients or any new enterprise requires more than just a great idea. It demands a strong foundation of values and strategic milestones.
Based on my experience I have put together a short list of the five most crucial values I think are key to build and scale a successful business:
✅ Resilience / Grit: Entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster ride. Resilience and Grit allow you to bounce back from setbacks and learn from failures. It’s about maintaining the drive and optimism even when the going gets tough.
✅ Adaptability: The business landscape is ever-changing. Being adaptable ensures you can pivot when necessary, embrace new challenges, and stay ahead of market trends. Flexibility is key to long-term success.
✅ Vision: A clear vision provides direction and purpose. It helps you set goals, align your team, and inspire others to join you on your journey. Your vision is the north star that guides your decisions and actions.
✅ Integrity: Building a business on honesty and strong ethical principles fosters trust with clients, partners, and your team. Integrity is the bedrock of a reputable and sustainable business.
✅ Passion: Passion fuels persistence and creativity. It drives you to innovate, solve problems, and continuously improve. Passionate entrepreneurs are often the ones who make the most significant impact.
The financial planning and investment banking industry is filled with entrepreneurs, building client books and networks akin to a stand alone business along their career journey.
We have been conducting quarterly adviser reviews and we are pleased to see our current team possess the above attributes. I have the privilege of sharing what has worked and more importantly what has not worked for me over the years I have been in financial services.
When I joined the industry, I would attend investor events and hand out marketing materials with novelty piggy banks. This strategy yielded minimal results, but it was all part of the journey!
