Our Open Day at Regis Camberwell was a lot of fun and a huge success! Many from the local community visited our stunning, brand-new residential aged care home, which is situated in the heart of Camberwell on Quinton Road. Our visitors took the opportunity to explore and experience the Home. They were thoroughly impressed with the amenities, the services we offer, and our Camberwell team who were on hand to meet and greet and provide tours. This week, 94 residents from 17 of our Victorian Homes came together for a memorable day out on the iconic Puffing Billy steam train. Our residents boarded the train for a peaceful ride through the hills, over timber trestle bridges and into the forest, following the original mountain track between Belgrave and Lakeside. Residents from Regis Holland Park recently visited New Farm Park, enjoying a day filled with social connection, laughter and engagement with nature. Our residents were captivated by the stunning jacaranda blooms and vibrant roses and shared their appreciation for the surroundings. Resident Julia remarked, "This is such an amazing place; the beauty of nature here is truly on another level." One of our residents, Fay, had a particularly memorable moment when a pigeon chose to sit on her lap, while others also enjoyed close encounters with these friendly birds. The group savored the fresh breeze and the wonderful fragrance of the roses throughout the garden. At Regis, we ensure our outings and activities are designed around creating meaningful experiences that enhance the wellbeing of our residents and foster strong community bonds. Good food, good wine, good friends and good times! Our four Homes in South Australia recently came together to venture out to the Grünthal microbrewery. The brewery hosted our residents and ensured they sampled some of the finest craft beer, artisan cheese and local wine the region has to offer. This group outing proved to be the perfect afternoon set in the beautiful Adelaide Hills overlooking the Onkaparinga River. Activities like these are designed to support residents to continue to live interesting, connected and fulfilled lives where they can continue to gain new experiences and engage with each other.

We had the incredible honor of hosting the 2024 Melbourne Cup tour at Regis East Malvern, and what a day it was! Our residents donned their finest racing attire, held the prestigious cup, and shared heartwarming stories of past Melbourne Cup victories. A special highlight was having Pat Hyland, the 1985 Melbourne Cup-winning jockey and a cherished resident at Regis, reflect on his illustrious racing career. His interview with Channel 9 was a trip down memory lane, filled with inspiring achievements and unforgettable moments.
