At Reconciliation WA, we believe that celebrating Indigenous Business Month is vital for supporting understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures and contributions. This month is a powerful reminder of the resilience and innovation of Indigenous entrepreneurs, who play a crucial role in shaping a vibrant and diverse economy. Indigenous businesses not only create jobs and stimulate local economies, but they also embody the rich cultural heritage and knowledge of our First Nations Peoples. By supporting these businesses, we contribute to a more equitable future and honor the traditions that have sustained communities for generations. Join us in recognising and promoting Indigenous businesses this month. Let's celebrate their achievements, support their growth, and work together towards true reconciliation. Visit Indigenous Business Month (https://lnkd.in/g7n6sGX) to learn more and discover how you can get involved. Indigenous Business Month

Indigenous Business Month (IBM) commences today and there’s a month to celebrate the excellence of Indigenous Business as the community-led movement marks 10 years. We know that 10 years is but a row of colour within a larger, continuing tapestry of doing business in this Country. This year’s theme for Indigenous Business Month is: Making our Mark. 10 years of Indigenous Business Month is a marked milestone for First Nations businesses and their allies to reflect, rejuvenate and celebrate our ways of doing business in modern times. Read more at the IBM Website ... https://lnkd.in/gqjBY5dJ ID: Surrounded by an illustrated graphic of the IBM colours and a stylised 10. #IndigenousBusinessMonth #IndigenousBusiness #IndigBizMonth #MakingOurMark #IBM2024

On Saturday we hosted our very first First Nations one day workshop in collaboration with Garlett Group at Reconciliation WA 💜. It was a day full of code, cupcakes, bushtukka, SO MUCH yarning and conversation, and meaningful connections. We are really passionate about providing opportunities that are inclusive for all women. Our indigenous sisters have 60,000 years of knowledge of this land and we can’t help but think how much richer and more powerful our society can be if we give them a voice. This event was the first of its kind for us, and a big shout out goes to City of Perth and Garlett Group for making it happen. Our 14 mentors who came down and shared their wisdom and energy, we thank you. A special call out goes to Ross Minney and Devhouse for providing a solution for super fast wifi and, as always, the fabulous Josh Fernandes who photographed the event. 🖤💛❤️

Some of our team members went down to stand in solidarity with Social Reinvestment WA and local community members ❤️ 💛 🖤

Protests are my favourite moments to photograph. Raw emotion, deep listening, pure solidarity. Over 100 people stood together at Parliament House today, calling on the WA Government to close Unit 18 - a youth unit within a maximum security adult male prison. A unit that saw WA’s first recorded death of a child in prison. A powerful lineup of speakers from advocates, to lived experience, to human rights and legal experts all united in their calls - for a complete overhaul of the WA youth justice system, and alternatives to detention in communities. Just some of moments from today below, captured by me for Social Reinvestment WA 📸
