About us
We started as Qantas Credit Union, more than 60 years ago. Back then our customers were the people of Qantas. They brought Australia to the world, and back home again. And we supported them through all their journeys. Since then we’ve grown to become an award-winning financial services provider for all Australians. We’re still customer-owned, returning profits through our products and services. And we still take care of people’s financial needs everywhere they go — whether they’re travelling the world, exploring their own backyard or moving on to a new stage of life. Being 100% customer-owned means our customers and owners are the same. Everything we do, the decisions we make, and the way we operate, is designed with the customer at the heart of it all. We exist for the benefit of our customers and community, not for making profit for the benefit of shareholders. We believe in doing the right thing for our customers and community, and in the power of people coming together to pursue financial freedom. And our goal is to be THE bank our customers value most. Last Thursday, some of our team laced up bright and early for the STRYDE4 Day event, walking either 10km or 21km along Sydney’s beautiful coastline to raise funds for our nominated charities doing incredible work in the community. 🌊👟 At Qudos Bank, we’re committed to supporting the wellbeing of our employees. One way we do this is by offering volunteer leave, allowing them to give back to causes that bring meaning and purpose to their lives. Taking part in Stryde4 Day was the perfect way for our team to stay active, soak in Sydney’s stunning beach views, and make a real difference. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and supported our participants. 💜 Together, we raised an impressive $15,279 for charities close to our hearts: ✨ Starlight Children's Foundation Australia ✨ Cerebral Palsy Alliance ✨ Children's Medical Research Institute (Jeans for Genes) ✨ Hanna Foundation Well done to everyone involved, and ThankQ for your generosity and encouragement! 🏅👏 #ThankQ #CharityWalk #Stryde4Day #OneTeam

Our Dispute Resolution Manager, Yvonne Coveney, will walk 21km along Sydney’s stunning coastline as part of STRYDE4 day, raising funds for the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia. This event holds special meaning for Yvonne, inspired by her family’s own experience navigating health challenges. "My youngest son was diagnosed with asthma before he turned two. Before that, we had three frightening hospital visits when he was seriously ill and had to stay in the children’s ward at RPA Hospital," Yvonne recalls. "This all happened during the COVID pandemic, making it an especially difficult time for everyone." Reflecting on that period, Yvonne expressed her gratitude for the care her family received. "The support we received was incredible and will always stay with me. While we still visit specialists and may face more hospital stays in the future, knowing that charities like the Starlight Children’s Foundation are there to support families makes such a difference. I’m truly grateful." Funds raised by Yvonne and the Qudos Bank team will help support the Starlight Children Foundation’s Healthier Futures program in Far North Queensland. This initiative partners with health professionals to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities by bringing Captain Starlight to remote health clinics. Through song, dance, games, and storytelling, Captain Starlight offers positive distractions to children, helping make healthcare visits less stressful. We’re proud of Yvonne’s dedication to this cause, and we invite you to join us in supporting her. You can contribute to Yvonne’s fundraiser through the Qudos Bank team page: https://lnkd.in/gPUZckyH Together, we can brighten lives and build healthier futures. 💜 #ThankQ #Stryde4Day #Community

We’re excited to see our Chief Financial, Technology & Operations Officer, Anna Milinkovic GAICD, take on the challenge of the 21km walk for STRYDE4 Day. This isn’t just a personal goal for her; it’s a heartfelt effort to support the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia —a charity that means so much to her and her family. She said, "In March 2022, my eldest daughter Ava spent four weeks at the Children’s Hospital. It was a tough time. The second COVID lockdown was in full swing, and visitors were restricted to a minimum. But every day, Captain Starlight and the amazing team made sure that kids like Ava could still smile and have fun despite everything going on around them. Ava still talks about the friends she made and the activities she enjoyed with fond memories." That experience left a lasting impact on Anna and her family. Since then, they’ve become dedicated supporters of the annual Star Ball, a gala event that helps fund the incredible programs the foundation provides to children and their families during difficult times. 💜 You can contribute to Anna’s fundraiser directly through the Qudos Bank team page and help us reach our goal of $20,000. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Click here to show your support 👉 https://lnkd.in/gPUZckyH Let’s cheer Anna on and help her cross both the finish line and our fundraising target! #ThankQ #Stryde4Day #Fundraiser #Charity

This month is Cyber Security Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to review your personal accounts and ensure the right protective measures are in place to keep your information and funds secure. This year’s theme is "Cyber security is everyone’s business", highlighting the importance of discussing cyber security with your loved ones. Make time to share tips on how they can protect their devices and accounts—because staying safe online is a team effort. Here are a few key things to consider when opening an account and practicing good cyber security: 🔒 Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) wherever possible. MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring two or more forms of verification. You can set this up by registering your number to receive security codes or downloading an authenticator app for passcodes. Never share these codes with anyone—even if they claim to be from a trusted source. 🔑 Create strong, unique passwords by using a combination of upper- and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid reusing passwords—each account should have its own. 🚨 Watch out for phishing scams when browsing online on any device. Ignore suspicious pop-ups, and never grant third parties access to your computer or mobile. If you receive unsolicited messages, research independently before taking action to ensure it isn’t a scam. 📲 Keep your devices up to date with the latest security and software updates to reduce the risk of unauthorised access. At Qudos Bank, we’re proud to support our community and give back to meaningful charities that make a difference for families and beyond. That’s why we’re honoured to take part in the upcoming STRYDE4 day event. Our Chief Risk Officer, Antar CHAHINE, will walk 21km from Bondi to La Perouse to raise funds for the Children's Medical Research Institute (Jeans for Genes). This incredible organisation is leading breakthroughs at their Stem Cell and Organoid Facility, advancing gene therapies that transform lives and driving research into treatments and cures for children’s genetic disorders. Antar’s walk is dedicated to the memory of his late cousin, Noah Herring, who passed away in 2022 from GM1 gangliosidosis—an ultra-rare genetic disorder affecting the brain and spinal cord. Known for his courage and spirit, Noah’s story continues to inspire his family and community. Antar set out to raise $1,000 and has already exceeded his goal in Noah’s honour. He shared: “Noah’s courage and spirit brought our family and community together while raising awareness for the vital need for research into rare genetic disorders like GM1. Your support, no matter the size, will fund critical research at CMRI and honour Noah’s legacy by offering hope to others facing similar challenges. Together, we can help create a brighter future for children affected by these devastating diseases.” If you’d like to support Antar, you can contribute to his fundraising page via the Qudos Bank Stryde4Day team page: https://lnkd.in/gPUZckyH To learn more about Noah’s journey and legacy, visit: https://lnkd.in/gdpEfQpd #ThankQ #Fundraiser #Charity #Stryde4Day

Happy International Credit Union Day! 🎉 ICU Day has been celebrated every October since 1948 to create awareness and celebrate the many ways credit unions improve the lives of their members globally. This year's theme of "One World Through Cooperative Finance" highlights how credit unions and cooperative financial institutions like Qudos Bank and many others bring people together to grow financial inclusion and make communities stronger. From our beginnings as the Qantas Staff Credit Union in 1959, we’ve stayed true to what matters most – being customer-owned and community-focused. As a customer-owned bank, we reinvest profits into better products and services that continue to meet the real needs of our members. This includes areas such as: 🏦 Offering banking products and service designed to make everyday banking easier and more meaningful ❤️ Backing programs that foster stronger, more connected communities 🌱 Supporting sustainability initiatives that have a positive impact on our environment When you bank with us, you’re not just a customer – you’re part of a movement that puts people and the planet first. Every decision we make reflects our belief that banking should be about more than profits; it should benefit society as a whole. Thank you for choosing to bank with heart. Together, we’re building stronger communities and creating positive change. #InternationalCreditUnionDay #CustomerOwned #QudosBank #CommunityFirst

We’re excited to announce that we are supporting STRYDE4 day this year and have nominated charities to support meaningful causes in the mental health and families community sector. Some of our employees will be participating in the Stryde 4 program where they will have the opportunity to do a 10km or 21km walking track alongside Sydney’s coastline or opt for a 14km ocean paddle from Clovelly Beach to La Parouse. We would like to introduce to you Beckie Unal, who is one our Dispute Resolution Specialists and she has been busy taking part in the 6-week training program in preparation for her 21km walk from Bondi Beach to La Parouse. This has given her an opportunity to connect with nature and explore walking tracks with beautiful scenery and surrounds, while also taking advantage of the recent October long weekend to get her steps up. Beckie will be supporting the Hanna Foundation to support their vital work in ensuring that vulnerable communities have access to mental health programs that encourage meaningful conversation and support. She said, “Long weekends are always a treat – it’s great to officially reach halfway on the journey to the big walk for STRYDE4 Day in support of the Hanna Foundation. I’ve been enjoying new adventures, both locally and around Sydney, while boosting my average step count in preparation for 24th October. It’s going to be challenging, but the rewards will be worth it on so many levels.” If you would like to support Beckie’s fundraiser for Stryde4Day, you can visit the Qudos Bank donation page and make a contribution – you can check out the progress of our fundraising efforts so far with our goal of achieving $20,000: https://lnkd.in/gPUZckyH #ThankQ #Fundraiser #Stryde4Day #Community
