✨ It was great to see Minister Ed Husic MP at the QC-Supercomputing Innovation Hub, where the integration of our quantum accelerator with the Setonix supercomputer is in full swing! This visit underscores the national commitment to advancing Australia’s capabilities in HPC and #quantum. 🚀The Hub is pioneering and proving the value of quantum computing testbeds in Australia. Collaborations with leading institutions like the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre are crucial as they provide the computational backbone essential for groundbreaking R&D in quantum tech, showcasing Australia's technological prowess on a global stage. 💎Let’s continue to push the boundaries in quantum and achieve brilliance together! #QuantumComputing #Innovation #AustralianTech
🎉 What a week at Pawsey! We were thrilled to welcome Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic MP to our centre. His visit was a highlight of an already phenomenal week. A big shout-out to our #PawseyTeam and researchers like Prof Melanie Johnston-Hollitt from Curtin University and Prof Jingbo Wang from The University of Western Australia for joining us. Adding an international twist to the visit, Jim Rogers from Oak Ridge National Laboratory—home to Frontier, the world’s first and fastest exascale supercomputer—joined us as part of the ongoing Cray User Group (#CUG2024) conference we also hosted this week. The welcoming delegation included CSIRO's Deputy Director Kirsten Rose FTSE GAICD, our CEO Mark Stickells AM, Chair Tim Shanahan, and the Federal Member for Swan Zaneta Mascarenhas. During his visit, Minister Husic got a first-hand look at our supercomputer Setonix, engaged with our team and researchers, gaining insights into the science we enable, our role in the quantum ecosystem, and our contributions to the SKAO in Australia. Big thanks to everyone who helped make the visit a hit! We're inspired and excited to keep driving forward scientific breakthroughs for the nation. 🌟 #PawseySupercomputing #Innovation #TechLeaders #ScienceandTech #NCRISimpact
