$25 BILLION NEW COMMUNITY PROPOSED FOR WESTERN SYDNEY   The Rosehill-Camellia Landowners Alliance were proud to participate in Business Western Sydney’s Go West! Metro conference in Parramatta this week. The RCLA is looking to the NSW State Government to collaboratively deliver a visionary new Masterplan for a proposed $25 billion new community on an amalgamated 90-hectare site in Rosehill & Camellia.   “The proposed station at Rosehill, as part of the Metro West rail project is a once-in-a-century opportunity to plan strategically for an entire ’city-within-a-city’, while also unlocking access to 1.5 km of the Parramatta riverfront – activating, remediating, and beautifying what is a former industrial wasteland. It will enable Parramatta to fulfil its destiny as a global city alongside Sydney,” said Rick Graf, Development Director of Billbergia. • It pays to check. Price is not the only important thing. Over the years I’ve seen imported bars fail when rebent on site, and mesh welds fail when stood on. REO IS NOT ALWAYS REO!!

Alarmingly, in the first month of this year we have seen a number of fraudulent ACRS certificates being presented with imported steels. In these cases, the prospective purchasers checked the ACRS cloud app or the ACRS website and were not able to validly verify certificates, so did not order or accept goods. An example of a fake certificate is shown below. In this case, the foreign mill is not currently ACRS certified and has assured ACRS they had no knowledge of the origin of the certificate. We are seeing an increasing number of intermediary players selling reinforcing and structural steel products, and would encourage purchasers to deal directly with steel manufacturers or traders with verifiable credentials, such as participating in the ACRS traceability scheme.   Purchasers need to ensure compliance of product at ordering and on delivery, with clear paths of traceability from mill to site. It is prudent that purchasers verify current certification on the ACRS cloud app (https://lnkd.in/gE4r_riu) and website (https://lnkd.in/gUz-jVWY) before ordering or accepting goods.
