As the much anticipated Amazon Prime Day sales draw to a close, we're wanting to give a huge shout out to our team of consultants who worked to deliver more than 1000 pieces of earned media coverage during the campaign. This triples the amount secured in 2023, with widespread coverage appearing on the likes of The Today Show, Sunrise and Channel 9, Channel 10 and Seven News to name a few. 🎥 Congratulations team! At Porter Novelli, we shape your story and make it count.
About us
At Porter Novelli, we shape your story and make it count. For 50 years, we’ve been helping our clients create positive change. We shape stories with evidence and we commit to strategy first. We listen and ask questions before we offer counsel. We make our work count in a way that can be measured by its positive impact on an organisation. We do this by delivering creative and meaningful marketing and communications campaigns, and reputation management and stakeholder advocacy programs that build trust and shift opinions. Our team of curious people are experts in shaping stories to deliver social benefit, now and for the long term. We also actively shape each of their stories, with strong professional development, career pathways and an inclusive culture. Together, we commit. We do what we say we will do. And that counts.

Last week, our consultant Tayla Woods (O’Brien) scaled the Story Bridge in Brisbane all in the name of one special someone in red – Santa! 🎅 Giving ‘Christmas in July’ a new meaning, the media op coincided with our client Scene to Believe's annual recruitment drive launch which calls on Queenslanders to apply for festive roles. Recent research showed that 84% of older Australians have cut back due to the cost-of-living crisis, and one in four retirees are likely to seek work in the next six months. Thank you to all our media friends for joining in on the fun!

Every Australian business will experience a data breach. Almost 900 organisations were impacted by a notifiable data breach in 2023, according to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Some of those businesses are no longer businesses due to the reputational damage they incurred. This is why EOFY is the time to address your organisation’s cyber preparedness. Just as you change your smoke alarm battery when you change your clocks, you should audit cyber preparedness at EOFY as you audit taxes. Having a specific data breach response plan and regular simulations puts you lightyears ahead. Good governance demands good preparedness. If you want to protect your organisation’s reputation, ask yourself the following questions this EOFY: - Do you have a data breach plan for the first two hours of an incident. If you were hit today, would you be prepared? - Is your plan up to date with the latest consumer, stakeholder and regulatory expectations? Have the members of your crisis response team changed? - Do you have a clear understanding of your B2B contractual obligations in the event of data loss? Whom do you have to notify, and how quickly? - Are you holding old employee data, or old ID docs, or old customer credit cards? - When was your last simulation to find gaps in your cyber incident response plan and test your executive team’s response? We live this work every day, which has given us deep expertise in auditing and updating crisis management plans, conducting full simulations and responding to incidents. We’ve been busy working with Corrections Victoria and the award-winning 'I Catch Killers' podcast to create an exclusive series that goes behind prison walls. Hosted by former homicide detective Gary Jubelin, we shared first-hand stories from Indigenous AFL star and former person in custody Andrew Krakouer and prison staff Clint and Kylie. To bring the podcast content to life, we also hosted an in-person community event featuring Gary and Andrew to dispel common misconceptions about life as a prison officer.

Members of our Melbourne team recently swapped their cozy bed for the MCG to raise money for youth homelessness at Melbourne City Mission (MCM)’s Sleep at the ‘G! We have enjoyed supporting MCM over the past few months to create awareness and drive donations for this event, and it was fantastic to see it come to life at the MCG. Thank you to everyone who has supported Team Porter Novelli and the broader Sleep at the ‘G campaign for this important cause. #MCMSleepAtTheG
