“Workshop Controller is the sort of role where if you don't do it well, everybody can hate you. But if you do it well, they respect you. In my mind, it is the most important role in the dealership. But it isn't easy - exceeding customer expectations and overseeing 15-18 dotted line reports. We’re looking to hire on attitude, solid decision-making skills, people skills and technical skills. Hard to find. We need people who know how to under-promise and over-deliver, and keep a team happy. We’re all about togetherness. Ideally, it’s someone who has previously been a foreman, workshop controller, or a service manager.
