🚀 We're excited to announce the December close of our Seed fundraise at 3.4M USD/5.2M AUD to reimagine application security with autonomous AI! Today, software engineers outnumber security engineers in enterprises 100 to 1 and despite increased investment in cyber defences, this market remains talent-constrained, with an estimated workforce gap of 3.4 million. A recent survey saw senior cybersecurity executives reveal that 20% to 40% of security engineers' workload consists of automatable tasks. If 20-40% of the work your full-time application security engineers do today was automated, what kind of impact could they be delivering instead? Last week, Shayan Shafii wrote a great article on the shifting landscape of application security, and coined a new category “APSE: Autonomous Product Security Engineering” that we're proud to be shaping at Nullify to transform the future of building secure software. For organisations with growing product security needs that struggle to capture and retain application/product security talent to begin with, we're confident that Nullify can democratise access to this talent by augmenting their team with autonomous AI. Security at it’s core remains a data problem, and the rapid advent and adoption of large language models presents a significant opportunity for attackers to use AI to automate attacks while defenders still lack context about their environment. They don’t have AI deployed yet that understands their networks, their applications, their users, and their company’s policies. In the meantime, using AI to augment offensive security activities such as payload and malware generation creates a delta that gives attackers an advantage in the AI-drive cyber arms race. At Nullify, we believe we can balance the scales in this race towards defenders. We are building AI agents that are capable of performing application security work autonomously, that can reason and make decisions like a real security engineer so organisations can build more secure software without growing the headcount of their security team. We're excited with renewed backing from our existing investors at Black Nova Venture Capital along with Sarah Guo’s Conviction Partners, Two Sigma Ventures, Root Ventures as well as awesome angel investors like Ely Kahn, Pascal Boillat, Sajeeb Lohani to reimagine product security from first principles and enable every engineering team to access world-class security engineering expertise! What a wonderful CISO 360 Roundtable Dinner at the iconic Savoy Hotel in London last night! Hosted by Pulse Conferences, kindly sponsored by Nullify. Many thanks to our insightful co-chairs, Shan Kulkarni, Co-Founder and CEO of Nullify and to the wonderful Martyn Booth, CISO of dunnhumby. Massive thanks to the CISO guests who contributed so much to the group discussion – you know who you all are! We were even treated to a song by MC Clive Room! Talking points during the animated discussed included amongst other things: What is our propensity to go faster using AI How can we build a virtuous circle with AI in cybersecurity Good AI management is good data governance Validation of remediation is the hardest and most urgent What are our AI risks - Transparency, data leakage, reputational risk Consumer data over intellectual property (out in the wild) Secure processes (includes people) over systems What threat modelling programmes are we using AI human risk - Insider risk and behavioural analytics Check out www.ciso360roundtable.com for upcoming CISO 360 Roundtables in London and Singapore. Come and meet us at the Science Museum London next month, 6 November for the 6th 'Talk to the Board' conference! www.talktotheboard.com.
