The Northrop Wollongong office recently hosted the inaugural Constructive Conversation Building Design Talk which bought together the local architecture community for a dynamic knowledge-sharing session. Peter Jameson, shared insights into the design and construction journey of a recently completed rammed earth house by TAKT Architects. The discussion delved into the traditional construction method, material requirements, testing, and certification. Samuel Suarez, Senior Façade Designer, also provided valuable perspectives on ventilated cavity design, emphasizing considerations such as thermal performance, waterproofing and durability. The evening was a wonderful opportunity to cultivate a culture of collaboration and professional growth among building designers in the Illawarra.
