qubec is a cluster of eighteen, three-bedroom townhouses, grouped around a landscaped courtyard. Located in Sydney’s Northern Beaches suburb of Newport, qubec combines urban style with bayside living. Formerly occupied by six private homes, the 3700m2 site with significant falls in two directions, is also flanked by single residential dwellings set in landscaped gardens to its east, and a small but vibrant neighbourhood corner shop which is anchored by a popular waterfront hotel to its west. The townhouses, with a bold and distinctive architectural language, form and materiality, are stepped to follow the natural site topography and act as the physical and visual link between the two contextual bookends. The simple forms and bold aesthetic add visual interest to the two street frontages and at the same time remind us of the close proximity to the stunning waters and bays of Pittwater through individual vistas and views from each townhouse. Celebrating diversity through delicious food is one of our favourite annual NT traditions! Our Culture Feast Day yesterday was a huge success, thanks to our amazing team who shared their culinary talents and cultural backgrounds. From homemade dishes to local favourites, we connected over stories and indulged in flavours from around the world. Moments like these highlight our inclusive workplace culture and celebrate what makes us unique.

We are thrilled to share our winning entry in the City of Sydney's design competition for a Storhub multi-level storage facility in Alexandria. Our design enhances the self-storage typology by integrating its unique features with the rich historical layers of Alexandria. This is accomplished through four fundamental approaches: boosting functionality, crafting a structure that converses with its environment, enhancing community support, and incorporating adaptability to meet future demands. By applying these principles, we aspire to create a space that is both innovative and deeply rooted in its historical context. Key features of our design include the re-establishment of an embankment to symbolize the creek edge, referencing the historical significance of Sheas Creek. The 'Make a Space' concept offers a versatile area for the people of Alexandria, fostering community engagement. The design incorporates sustainable practices such as repurposing materials for shading, a green roof to combat the heat island effect, and adaptable structures for long-term viability, positioning this project as a sustainable, community-focused landmark in Alexandria. A huge congratulations goes out to our dedicated team on this achievement! We look forward to working with Storhub and turning this concept into reality! It’s been a huge few months at our 50 Quay Street Build to Rent (BtR) project along the Brisbane River. Two of Hutchies Cranes & Hoists’ Favco luffing cranes are now up and today the team hosted a traditional smoking ceremony on site with our friends Shannon Ruska and Tribal Experiences. The project is being developed by Cedar Pacific and will be home to 475 apartments with a variety of on site amenities and facilities for residents. It’s also aiming for a range of sustainability targets including 5 Star Green Star v1 and 5 Star NatHERS ratings. nettletontribe is delighted to share that four of our projects; Oceans, The Pavilions, Urbain Residences and Darling & Cambridge, have been included in The Good Design for Housing map, recently launched by the Government Architect NSW. This map features over 100 case studies highlighting well-designed low-rise and mid-rise housing projects in New South Wales. It is evident that there is a growing need for more diverse housing options, and these showcased projects serve as successful examples that not only make positive contributions to their respective areas but also offer valuable inspiration for future housing endeavors. We invite you to explore The Good Design for Housing map: https://lnkd.in/g8t2PbyJ
