“Navantia is the original designer of the vessels we work on. We have a holistic understanding of the origin, development, and delivery of the existing design and the consequences of its modification.” “Our work is pretty creative. We see how our thoughts and designs become reality. This is always very satisfying. I love to see how designs and projects become into reality. I also love to solve problems of the Navy and help our Defence Force. It makes me feel useful to our society and our country.” – David Rueda Roca, Engineering Support Manager (LHD) This, and so much more, is what drives us. Navantia Australia is proud to see #HMASSydney contributing to Australia’s security through its participation in #RIMPAC24, a biennial multinational exercise involving 29 nations and more than 25,000 personnel. Constructed at Adelaide’s Osborne shipyard, HMAS Sydney is one of three Hobart Class guided missile destroyers that provide air defence for accompanying ships, land forces and infrastructure in coastal areas, and for self-protection against missiles and aircraft. Equipped for air, surface and undersea warfare, helicopter missions, and joint operations with Australia’s allies, HMAS Sydney and sister ships Hobart and Brisbane, are the most advanced and capable surface ships in the Royal Australian Navy. We wish the commander and crew all the best throughout RIMPAC and the ship’s entire four-month deployment and look forward to a safe return to Fleet Base East in October. Fair winds and following seas, Sydney. We know you are Thorough and Ready. #defenceindustry #yourADF #maritimeindustry #navalshipbuilding #sovereigncapability

In the defence industry, accountability is an essential element of trust, integrity, and effectiveness. Every decision, action, and outcome must meet the highest standards to ensure the safety, security, and sovereignty of our nation. Accountability means taking responsibility for our actions, being transparent, and holding ourselves and others accountable for the results of our decisions. When things go wrong, we fix it. We don't waste time pointing fingers. Instead, we roll up our sleeves and focus on finding the best possible solution. Our commitment to delivery is what motivates us to keep pushing until we succeed. This, and so much more, is what drives us. #navyknown #homegrown #defenceindustry #navalshipbuilding #maritimeindustry #sovereigncapability
