Building a connected network of solar and storage systems that radically changes the way renewable energy is delivered.
About us
The NRN - National Renewable Network is building a connected network of solar and storage systems that radically changes the way energy is delivered. We use the latest renewable energy technology and infrastructure to simultaneously lower the cost of renewable energy for households, businesses, and energy retailers. Lower emissions, lower energy pricing, and a greener future for Australia. As an Energy Infrastructure business, we are challenging our current expensive and outdated electricity supply chain by upgrading homes and businesses to produce, store and use their own renewable energy. Our subscription service offers Energy Retailers the ability to upgrade their consumers to renewable energy to improve remote energy management, profit margins and make a step forward to a cleaner energy grid. Meanwhile consumers can enjoy Solar and Battery at no cost and access to exclusive and more affordable energy tariffs.

At NRN, we fully support the Australian Energy Market Operator’s (AEMO) stance on the rollout of renewables. AEMO has called for an urgent $3.4 billion investment in transmission lines to support the renewable energy shift, highlighting that clean energy backed by storage is the most cost-effective solution for Australian households and businesses. As coal-fired power plants close faster than anticipated, AEMO's updated roadmap highlights the immediate need for new generation, storage, and transmission to secure power supplies. With renewable energy already powering nearly 40% of our national grid, it’s crucial to accelerate this progress to meet the 2030 climate targets. NRN stands by AEMO's vision for a renewable-led future, ensuring reliable, affordable, and clean energy for all Australians. https://lnkd.in/g7P8Sg3q

For too long, solar energy has been a refuge for the wealthy, leaving many behind in the transition to renewable energy. The high upfront costs have made it inaccessible for many, straining our grid and creating an imbalance. We at the National Renewable Network (NRN) are here to change that. Our mission is to ensure everyone benefits from solar and battery systems, regardless of their financial situation, by making these technologies accessible. Recent discussions around export charges for solar energy often mischaracterised as a “sun tax,” highlight the need for a balanced and stable energy supply. Our CEO, Alan Hunter, supports Ausgrid's introduction of the two-way tariff, stating that it ensures that renewable energy benefits are more inclusive, prevents households without solar systems from bearing grid upgrade costs, and incentivises energy management. This approach promotes efficient energy use and helps stabilise the grid, benefiting all consumers. https://lnkd.in/gnZYnj5i
