🧠 Today is World Brain Day! 🧠 This year's theme is brain health and prevention with a mission of promoting brain health for all. Neurological disorders make up a significant part of disease burden globally. The World Health Organization's International Global Action Plan (IGAP) on neurological disorders was developed to reduce the burden of neurological conditions and to strengthen services for those affected. To support the implementation of the IGAP, WHO has released a comprehensive toolkit, a resource designed to assist policy-makers, program managers, and service planners at national and subnational levels in executing IGAP actions. The toolkit emphasizes the involvement of people with neurological disorders, their carers, families, and representative associations, placing them at the heart of the implementation process. MS Australia-supported researchers investigated the link between hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, and quality of life in people living with MS. The study found that hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic reduced the quality of life of people living with MS, particularly in terms of emotional wellbeing and maintaining self-care activities.
