As a long-term partner of Eat Up Australia, we are proud to support its Annual Sandwich Day Appeal 🍞 For 24 hours, Moose will be doubling ALL donations made to the appeal (Friday 1st November 7.30am until Saturday 2nd November 7.30am AEDT) raising funds to help feed disadvantaged kids around the country. Eat Up is a charity that provides free school lunches for disadvantaged kids who arrive at school with an empty lunchbox and tummy, impacting their ability to learn, grow and succeed. With the help of volunteers and partners, Eat Up supports more than 900 schools nationally makes and delivers over 30,000 lunches EVERY WEEK. To kick off the appeal, we welcomed our Melbourne Moosies and their families, alongside Lyndon Galea and the Eat Up team, to help make over 2,400 sandwiches for kids in need. Thank you to all those who attended; we love seeing the next generation giving back and creating a legacy impact for years to come. Just as comfortable in front of the camera as he is designing toys, Melbourne-based Moosie, Maxwell Carr made a stunning cameo in our recent #WeAreMoose film, effortlessly leaping from a Magic Mixies Cauldron! Say hello to Max👋 🫎 How long have you been at Moose and in what roles? I’ve been at Moose for almost three years as a Product Designer in Youth Electronics, where I focus on developing interactive and innovative toys. 🫎 What would your parents say you do? My parents would jokingly say I still play with toys! But in truth, they’re proud that I work in such a creative and dynamic industry, one that brings joy. 🫎 What do you really do? As a Product Designer, I bring toys from concept to mass production. I create fun and engaging play patterns, conduct commercial analysis, work on 3D modelling, and engineer mechanical movements for our amazing toylines. 🫎 If you were a Moose toy, which one would you be and why? I’d be a Goojitzu! Like the elastic-action figure, my role requires a lot of flexibility. Every project has its unique challenges, and being adaptable is key to creating new, exciting toys. 🫎 Biggest pinch me moment at Moose? One of my favorite moments was during user testing for a project I worked on for My Puppies Home — a flatpack doghouse. Once the kids finished building the house and added the final touch, a hidden puppy would drop from the roof of the doghouse, barking as it appeared. I’ll never forget when one of the kids looked inside after hearing the thud and shouted, “REAL MAGIC!” Such a great moment and realisation of why we do what we do. 🫎 Why do you love working here? I love working at Moose because every project is a new adventure. The opportunity to design "fun" is constantly evolving, and each year brings fresh challenges that push my creativity. It’s exciting to work in such an innovative environment where ideas turn into reality. 🫎 What may people not know about you? I run a side project called POLYONYX, where I recycle waste plastic from businesses and transform it into custom-made lighting on weekends. These pieces have been featured in Melbourne Design Week and NGV and it's something I'm really proud of. 🫎 Who would play you in a movie of your life? Owen Wilson—his laid-back, fun-loving vibe reflects my personality. If you missed the film and want to find out more about what goes on inside the magical world of #MooseToys, watch it here https://lnkd.in/gwB3VuzG

Meet the Moosies is back! Over the coming weeks, we will be featuring some of the talented team members who starred in our recent We Are Moose film. First up is Mallory Van Laeken, Director of US Marketing based out of our LA office. Spoiler, if Mallory wasn't iconic enough, she has a #MooseToys product named after her! Read on to get the full scoop. 🫎 How long have you been at Moose and in what roles? Almost six years. I started as a Brand Manager, then Senior Brand Manager and now Director of Marketing! However, my connection to Moose began even earlier—before joining the team, I worked at a fantastic licensing agency where Moose was one of our clients. So, in many ways, I’ve felt like a "Moosie" for much longer! 🫎 What would your parents say you do? My mom says I “make” the most adorable toys for kids! She is always in awe of the detail and innovation across our lines and is always excited to see what we launch next! 🫎 What do you really do? Every day brings something new in my role. I collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the globe in Design, Analytics, PR, Sales and Operations (to name a few) to ensure our product lines are set up for success and launch in creative ways. This includes working with Creator and Media agencies, briefing retail displays, proofing press releases, presenting product, strategizing marketing plans and launching fun activations. 🫎 If you were a Moose toy, which one would you be and why? Fun fact, I am a Moose Toy! I am honoured to be Shopkin from the Season 7 “Join the Party” Picnic Party Team. Mallory Watermelon Punch to be exact. Cheers to that! 🫎 Biggest pinch me moment at Moose? Winning Employee of the Year. It was a surreal experience, and it really highlighted how much I’ve grown and how rewarding it is to see hard work pay off. 🫎 Why do you love working here? I love working at Moose because of its supportive and collaborative environment. Our team is incredibly talented, and there’s always an opportunity to learn and grow. The people at Moose are inspiring, driven and ultimately fun! The company values align with my own, which makes it easy to stay motivated and passionate about the work we do. 🫎 What would your workmates not know about you? Growing up on a farm in rural Ontario, Canada, I quickly learned the value of hard work and developed a love for the outdoors. Weekends were spent snowmobiling, quadding, and boating—activities that instilled both a sense of adventure and a love for nature. I’m passionate about cooking, and I always make sure my dishes are aesthetically pleasing. After all, you eat with your eyes first! 🫎 What you’re most looking forward to this holiday season? I look forward to the “WOW” reactions from everyone who receives Moose toys as part of their holiday celebrations. Bringing joy to superhappy children is always the ultimate goal. I’m also excited to slow down and spend quality time with my loved ones. #LifeAtMoose

☀ Today, October 11, is the United Nation’s International Day of the Girl, an opportune time to reflect on the way our personal values and professional decisions impact the well-being of current and future generations of women and girls. 🌟 In light of this, in our latest newsletter we shared news from our collaborators and partners about work focussed on improving the lives of girls in Australia and internationally, and highlighted a range of initiatives on our Project Portal that are seeking philanthropic funding to support girls. 🤾♀️ You can also read about the work of Dr Nicole Rinehart and her AllPlay team at Monash University, and how they are investing in neurodiverse girls with the support of Moose Happy Kids Foundation and MECCA M-POWER. 📽 Over the past two weeks we have been filming interviews with leading voices for gender-wise giving in the philanthropic sector and we can’t wait to share their unique insights in the coming months. This project has been enabled by the Besen Family Foundation and we thank them for their generosity. 📊 Finally we would like to remind you that our annual State of Gender-wise Giving survey of the ‘AFR Top 50’ corporate and philanthropic organisations (as published in the Australian Financial Review) is now open. This research, generously supported by the Evolved Group, works to provide an important benchmark for leadership teams to better understand the way philanthropic and community investment decisions impact women and girls and gender equality. 📈 If you or your peers are among the ‘AFR Top 50’ giving organisations in Australia we urge you to take part in this important research which provides an important benchmark to assess gender equity in giving. ➡ Read the newsletter: https://lnkd.in/gRFg_E5z #idotg #internationaldayofthegirl #giving #investinwomen Moose Toys MECCA Brands #MPOWER
