I grew up in a family of strong independent women so had solid foundations at home seeing females working full time while juggling family. My grandmother was a widower full time worker while raising 3 children by herself at a time superannuation was not given to females. She was Caucasian so I cannot imagine how hard it must have been for women of colour in South Africa at that time. Being in recruitment for a long time now, I've noticed positive changes over time in companies supporting females but there is still so much more to do. One of the areas needs to be in our society shifting and supporting men being more involved with families, so it's normalised. Let young boys see their dads being more involved while mum works. Post covid lockdown, flexibility has improved and it's allowed women who would have previously only been able to work part time due to rigid inflexible office hours, the ability to now work full time- which has a huge impact on family systems overall. #internationalwomensday2024
