Today on the maxon Cybathlon blog: How the SmartArM changes the perception of prothesis wearers. The SmartArM looks like it literally jumped out of a Hollywood movie. But it's real: A french research team from ISIR - Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique at the Sorbonne University in Paris has developed and since constantly improved the device. The SmartArM is designed for transhumeral amputees ore people without a forearm. What drives the team and what role plays maxon in the SmartArM? What are the goals of teamleader Nathanael Jarrassé? Once more, Alessandra Keller and Mathias Flückiger from team Thömus maxon proofed they belong to the world elite in mountain biking. Alessandra reached the 7th and Mathias the 5th place in Paris and both return to Switzerland with a well deserved diploma. Congratulations from maxon! Day in, day out, maxon appreciates the creativity of our employees in everything they do. Take, for example, the staff from our factory in Sexau, Germany. They took a selfie stick, removed the stick from the clamp, fastened the clamp to a bar in our warehouse, attached a camera to the clamp, and then tracked how the bar transformed into something else.
