The redevelopment of a senior study hub provides a refined learning environment, meeting the needs of contemporary education while maintaining the culture of the College. Flexibility in the interconnected spaces allows mixed modes of teaching not previously possible in the cellular classroom structure. On the 20th of June 2024, our Director Gerald Matthews will be joining the Vinnies CEO Sleep Out, an event aimed at raising awareness and funds to support Australians experiencing homelessness. For one night, he will be sleeping rough to gain insight into the challenges faced by those without stable housing, and to show solidarity with them. Homelessness is a pressing issue in our society, with thousands of individuals and families struggling to find shelter every night. It's a problem that affects people from all walks of life. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. It will help provide essential support services, such as meals, accommodation, and access to education and employment opportunities, to help people rebuild their lives. Recently, our Managing Director Gerald was given the opportunity to share his insights in an opinion piece for industry publication Build Australia Magazine on the topic of: How design can be the best tool for wealth creation through property; especially when construction costs, interest rates and commercial vacancies are all going up. Clever design creates value uplift; aesthetics is the final stage of design (not the first).   Gerald provided some valuable perspectives on the benefits and financial gains of quality design and investment strategies, while also highlighting value management, and economics. There is a raft of measures needed to be considered long before building and design are even started.
