Our team were delighted to be announced as a finalist in the Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards 2024, which included an invitation to the awards gala held in Sydney this month. Our Managing Director, Tanya Pavez (CAHRI), and Operations Manager, Tamara Caygill, attended the celebration at The Star Sydney. We are incredibly proud to announce that Magnetic People Pty Ltd won the award among 23 impressive finalists in the Specialised Small Business category. The award was determined by an independent expert panel that thoroughly evaluated each entrant based on various aspects of small business operations, including strategies, growth plans, eco-friendliness, and innovation. Meet the team… Ella Telfer | People & Capability Specialist Bach. Health Science (Psychology and Public Health) Ella is a seasoned HR professional with over a decade of experience in the area. Holding a Bachelor of Health Science with a double major in Psychology and Public Health from UWA, Ella brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to human resource management. Ella began her career as a recruiter, specialising in volume recruitment for shutdowns in the Pilbara region. This role honed her skills in managing high-pressure recruitment processes and delivering efficient staffing solutions for large-scale projects under tight deadlines. Following this, Ella spent 8 years at Jackson McDonald, Western Australia’s leading independent law firm, in an HR generalist role. Ella worked closely with the business to understand and address their HR needs to develop tailored HR solutions. Her role involved everything from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, compliance and coaching. Ella has a keen interest in the interplay between human behaviour, well-being and workplace dynamics. Narelle possesses over 20 years of diverse experience across multiple sectors, including oil and gas, mining, med-tech, manufacturing, and not-for-profit organisations in Australia, Indonesia and the USA. Over the course of a decade at Chevron, Narelle led the people and culture function for major capital projects, including Gorgon and Wheatstone, and played a pivotal role in their success. As a seasoned HR practitioner and business owner, Narelle has extensive expertise in organisational design and development, employee relations, business coaching and high-performance team building. Her strategic mindset is complemented by a pragmatic approach to crafting and implementing effective people solutions. Narelle is known for her ability to cultivate authentic and productive relationships with unwavering energy and passion.
