We've all been there. We've all experienced the struggle. The it’s-Monday-morning-and-every-cubicle-is-taken-except-for-the-middle-one-and-the-last-vestiges-of-your-weekend-are-making-their-way-through-your-struggling-digestive-system kind of struggle. Well, here's a few pointers on how to get in, drop the payload, and extract back to base camp in complete anonymity. And for those needing a little more help, we have an in-depth article here if you wish to enlighten yourself. --> bit.ly/4bGBY4N

#Officepolitics. They're unavoidable. It's an unfortunate reality that can be difficult to accept. And it's comforting to think that we won't engage. That our work will speak for itself. Last time we checked, work doesn't speak... Visibility is what's rewarded. So don't just mention your work. Emphasise the impact it's having on the organisation and why it matters.

Something many grads don't realise is required of them is the ability to speak multiple languages. English, of course, but there is another that demands near-native fluency. Corporate wankanese. The language used by team leaders, managers, and executives in offices across the globe. So, it’s time to put down the Dualingo and shift your focus toward the Lukewarm Regards Corporate Jardon dictionary. Merriam-Webster better sleep with one eye open.

We've all worked with that one passive-aggressive coworker that makes life miserable. Making them stop can be difficult. Do you unleash your frustration and confront them? They'll probably tell you it's all in your head. Do you go straight to your boss? No one wants to be that person. So what are you left to do? That's what we covered in this week's email. Here's a snippet! How have you dealt with these kinds of coworkers? For a whole lot more --> https://lnkd.in/gBzmpNCP

In this week's newsletter, we discussed the stranger danger dichotomy. It’s the idea that for 20 years, we choose our friends and have little expectation to interact meaningfully with anyone outside our circle. Then, when we step into the office for the first time, everything changes. Suddenly we’re surrounded by strangers of different ages, cultural backgrounds, and interests for eight hours a day, five days a week. It can be tough, especially as a younger professional. Why would anything we say be of interest or value to a building full of people older, wiser, and infinitely busier than us? In the blink of an eye what was once a safety measure becomes a critical skill for success. Has this been something you’ve struggled with? Let us know below.
