KomplyAi had a fantastic interview with Tech Council of Australia at Parliament House. Part of demoing our technologies in governance, risk and compliance for AI to Federal politicians.  Personally, as a founder of a tech start up in AI, I feel a deep sense of responsibility every day. Privileged to support in the upskilling of specialist areas in AI and GRC where there are significant skills shortages. KomplyAi continues our mission to better enable access to our technologies to a greater number of businesses and governments to more rapidly adopt AI, but to do so safely in compliance with global laws.  Reducing entry barriers for those that are building and using AI to improve lives and innovating to accelerate productivity gains.

We're thrilled to announce that KomplyAi is a partner of the "Generative AI for Education Leaders Summit" in Sydney, Australia in March 2024. Our founder and CEO, Kristen Migliorini, is set to deliver a keynote address on how AI technology intersects with the education sector and how to advance AI principles into actionable steps that can help universities manage change in a decentralized and multifaceted environment. We've been working on some exciting changes and new features to our foundational enterprise SaaS platform for global AI governance, risk, and compliance. Tailoring bespoke market offerings to meet the unique needs of the education sector. KomplyAi’s multi-technology solutions approach also includes a micro-tool, a self-service application designed to mitigate risk in the use of commercial gen AI tools, and to provide training in AI for schools and universities. Our goal is to introduce supporting technologies that quickly facilitate the management of risk and opportunities of AI, optimizing and enabling the expertise and skills already available in universities to manage these issues into the future. We're not just another consulting or law firm; our technology has also been developed to be a core enabler that benefits industry connectivity in AI, providing a significant competitive advantage to our research-intensive customers and enabling them to facilitate 'profit centres.' As we move forward, it's clear that mainstreaming AI in schools and universities is a journey that has only just begun. In April this year, UNESCO’s global study revealed that fewer than 10% of schools and universities had any formal guidance on AI. There have been key pivots and innovations, but we're still at the beginning stages. Thankfully, there has been recognition of the fundamental importance that higher education institutions and schools play in preparing our students, researchers, and staff to be leaders in a world increasingly enabled AI. We're working hard to ensure that AI does not become a tool of disenfranchisement and that academic excellence and integrity are maintained while teaching the next workforce. In Australia, for example, we've seen one of the greatest areas of uptake of AI being higher education students, release of key mandatory Government Frameworks for Gen AI in Schools and the G08 Universities issuing Principles for the use of Gen AI, Government Inquiries into Gen AI and education, and key regulators such as TEQSA issuing ‘Requests for Information’ to providers about the risks of Gen AI and approaches by mid-next year. Global laws coming out of the EU, AI Act, identifying educational activities intersecting with AI as high risk and requiring governance. These are all positive steps towards building a better future with AI. Exciting education release. Reach out if you would like to start 2024 ahead of the game, not behind it as we witness unprecedent changes: [email protected].

KomplyAi's founder, Kristen Migliorini's thesis on AI regulation with a spotlight on the Australian context has been reviewed and accepted for publication in 'Les Nouvelles', a global journal for international licensing executives and IP lawyers and litigators. The paper is a result of a number of years of research and analysis of global laws intersecting with AI, developing systems before in compliance for dual use technologies transfers and sanctions, and KomplyAi's front line work in technology development for responsible AI management. Proposing a way forward for regulation in Australia. Timely as we wait for the final announcements coming out of the European Union overnight (and this morning) on the amended text of the impending 'EU AI Act'. Agreements on, amongst other things, the tiered treatment of powerful foundation models, and prohibited AI activities that have been deemed to pose such an unacceptable risk, that they will not be permitted in the EU. Kristen Migliorini will be doing a live talk with Les Nouvelles about the paper, Australia, the implications of the EU AI Act for business, and the most recent changes, with a date to be announced shortly.
