JHA recently had the opportunity to participate in a Careers Day Workshop at North Sydney Girls High School. Our Associate Electrical Engineer, Assil Ghandour and our Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer, Pınar Smaragdis connected with the NSG Year 11 and Year 12 students by sharing their valuable knowledge and insight regarding the Building Services industry, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering systems design in their recent projects, and the lifecycle of a project from planning through to commissioning. They also delved into innovation opportunities and sustainability practices in the industry and answered students’ questions about their own experience as professional engineers in the bustling construction sphere. Thank you to our role models Assil and Pinar for taking the time to attend and engage with the students! JHA is committed to bringing more visibility to engineering to bright young minds, and help girls feel confident in exploring engineering (and other STEM fields) as their future career. 

JHA are proud to partner with Mirvac once again to provide our design services in Hydraulic, Fire, and Vertical Transportation for The Langlee, a premium senior living development located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. In our continued collaboration with Billbergia Group, JHA is proud to be part of the project team that reached a major milestone in the Rhodes Central Stage 2 project. Peake Tower is now the tallest building in Rhodes, standing tall with 47 storeys of residential apartments and basement car parking. The Rhodes Central Stage 2 project comprises of over 670 residential apartments across two high-rise buildings – Peake Tower and Oasis, as well as an integrated fitout of the new 9,100sqm multipurpose community recreation and childcare centre located in the precinct’s three-level podium. JHA is delivering mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire, high voltage, civil, ESD, vertical transport, audio visual and ICT consultancy, including the design of an Integrated Communications Network for the recreation and leisure centre.   #buildingservices #construction #engineering #residential #JHAengineers #JHAservices #JHAsydney 

URBNSURF Sydney is a world leading surf park facility at Sydney Olympic Park. Visitors are able to access the surf park year-round, day and night, as URBNSURF provides a massive diamond-shaped lagoon with perfect waves up to two metres in height. The facility also features a wellness studio, skate park, hot hubs, beach cabanas, a surf academy, a premium restaurant with a rooftop terrace, waterfront café and takeaway kiosk. JHA is proud to have collaborated with Davies Climate Control, Hutchinson Builders and Cottee Parker Architects to deliver Pillow Talk Australia’s new head office and warehouse in Darra, Queensland. With exposed ceiling design to showcase the 1 MWr Air Conditioning Systems throughout the building, this state-of-the-art complex provides Pillow Talk with a purpose designed ‘home away from home’ for their team. JHA successfully delivered Mechanical services alongside Davies Climate Control. Congratulations to James Farrah on being promoted to Associate Director! James joined our Queensland office in its infancy as the fifth employee overall and supports an office that now has grown to have over 50 local staff. A mechanical engineer by background, James is a Chartered Engineer that holds RPEQ registration and leads JHA across a variety of sectors including healthcare, aged care, commercial, and residential. As a team lead, James prefers to stay actively involved in projects from start to end, ensuring our clients expectations and project requirements are met. When asked about his time at JHA so far, James noted that “one of the most rewarding aspects of working at JHA since starting has been watching the growth, development, and successes of not only our staff, but our office as a whole. Being a part of that growth has allowed us to interact and collaborate with a wide range of peers within our industry, across projects of all sizes”. JHA is pleased to have collaborated with UNSW and MCA Architects to deliver a state-of-the-art teaching classroom equipped with sophisticated and modern Audio-Visual systems. The space is designed in such a fashion to enable the lecturers to conduct remote classes with cutting-edge technology allowing students from around the world to attend lectures and actively participate in discussions with the lecturer. JHA successfully delivered Electrical, AV and Mechanical services. Lighting in this project was not only designed for aesthetics but also integrated with the AV system to provide a suitable space for presentations. Joining us as an Associate Civil/ Flood Engineer, Ali has over 15 years of in-depth technical experience in civil and water engineering including flood assessment, stormwater management, water sensitive urban design, bulk earthworks, road and car park design, hydraulic, hydrology, water resources planning and optimisation. A Chartered Engineer, Ali’s extensive experience includes numerous notable projects in the commercial, retail, residential, industrial, education, health, aged care and public domain sectors.
