We're an NFP that tackles social issues and empowers the social impact sector through the smart use of technology.

About us

Infoxchange is a not-for-profit social enterprise that has been delivering technology for social justice for over 30 years. With over 180 staff across Australia and New Zealand, we tackle the biggest social challenges through the smart and creative use of technology. We work with community, government and corporate partners to solve issues around homelessness, family violence, mental health and disability, as well as supporting Indigenous communities, women, youth and families. Our products and services are used by over 25,000 government and community services. We provide the right tools to improve efficiency and deliver greater impact – from nation-wide service coordination systems to IT advice for individual organisations. And through our work in digital inclusion and social innovation we use technology to empower people experiencing disadvantage, driving social inclusion and creating stronger communities. We believe no-one should be left behind in today’s digital world. In November 2018, Infoxchange joined forces with Connecting Up. Together, we are Australia and New Zealand’s leading not-for-profit dedicated to using technology to improve the lives of people experiencing disadvantage and the organisations that support them. It's #CyberSecurityAwarenessMonth and we're continuously looking at ways to improve cyber security protections for our customers, and through educational resources for the sector more broadly. Australians lost more than $2.7 billion to scams last year (ACCC, 2024), and it's important we can help vulnerable communities at risk. We have seats available for our upcoming anti-scam series. If you're a not-for-profit staff member, we encourage you to share these sessions with your clients and network to learn how to better protect them from increasingly prevalent scams. If you'd like a facilitator for your group or community, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can enquire to access a facilitator through the link in the description of our next anti-scam session here: https://lnkd.in/gNsdkUNA Upcoming sessions: - 16th October, 11.30am-12.30pm AEDT: https://lnkd.in/gNsdkUNA - 30th October, 2.30-3.30pm AEDT: https://lnkd.in/g4QkPQPs - 12th November, 11am-12pm AEDT: https://lnkd.in/gMR-7GnR - 27th November, 12pm-1pm AEDT: https://lnkd.in/gghFxN6K #cyber #cybersecuritymonth #cybersecurity

The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions is seeking Victorian digital technology businesses to participate in a survey on the current challenges and opportunities faced as a digital business in 2024. These results are critical for helping inform the Victorian Government on developing and delivering initiatives to support the sector and the digital economy. Last year's report found that: - Nearly $129 billion in revenue was generated by Victorian digital technology businesses in FY23 - The share of businesses trialling AI and ML almost doubled from 24% to 46% within a year - Over a third of businesses are exporting tech products and services, with revenue from overseas markets making up 40% of their revenue Complete the survey here: https://lnkd.in/g5X6Cbzd

    Technology for impact

After an amazing journey spanning more than 12 years, I am now entering my final week at Infoxchange. I have been fortunate to benefit from several opportunities in my time at IX. After starting in an entry level role, I was fortunate to move into a consulting role within 6 months. Then for 6 years I worked on over 100 projects helping government and community service organizations deploy the IX Client and Case Management product and improve their ability to do amazing work changing lives of people experiencing disadvantage in society. Along the way I took the opportunity to invest in myself, building my personal and professional skillset to better deliver targeted and impactful technology solutions and fulfill the inspiring mission of elevating the capability of the community services sector through the use of technology. Over the last 6 years I had the opportunity to work in management roles where I could apply my learnings and scale my impact - first through others at IX by leading project delivery teams, and then as the CCM Product Manager through product innovation and contributing to organizational strategy. Some highlights: - Winning and then leading our first national rollout for a worldwide NGO, then hearing the stories of impact and the difference it made to individuals and teams across the organization. - Leading several innovative government deployments that improved service delivery and compliance efficiency for funded community service organizations and streamlined access to support services for vulnerable community members. - Growing and working with an amazing team of Consultants, Business Analysts and Project Managers as we scaled up and transformed our service delivery and project management processes while delivering hundreds of projects across Australia. - Working with the product development team to transition from paid-project-led product development to a product-led, team-owned product with customer need and organizational strategy driving opportunity selection and development prioritization. - Multiple iterations of driving innovative access to data which will result in the launch of a new data analytics platform that is a game-changer for NGOs using IX products. - Championing the "OneIX" strategy that will revolutionize technology offerings from IX and elevate organizational ability to sustainably deliver on its mission of technology for social justice. I also fondly remember the people I have met within IX and in community service and government organizations along the way. Through challenges, laughs and learnings, it is the shared passion and collective contributions to achieve shared goals that has made the day to day work enjoyable and fulfilling. After investing in one organization for so long, it was a difficult decision to leave. With the decision made and many learnings and experiences now a part of me, I will soon turn my attention to the next big decision, what in this wide world will I do next.

We're in Our Community today responding to the most recent cyber attack to impact our sector, noting that the attack serves as yet another warning of the vulnerabilities facing NFPs. “Cyber attacks are continuing to become more prevalent in the community sector, causing significant disruption and damage to the reputation and daily work of not-for-profits," shared David Spriggs. "We advise organisations to ensure they are conducting regular cyber security audits, are implementing strong cyber security practices and educating both staff and volunteers on cyber risks and the critical steps to protect information. “It is important to prepare for 'when' not 'if' scenarios." Our digital technology in the NFP sector report shows that not-for-profits do not have basic cyber security protections in place, with only 20% providing cyber security awareness training for staff. Just 1 in 5 have a plan to improve cyber security posture despite holding highly sensitive data. We recommend organisations visit our Cyber Safe Hub for self-paced learning and webinars for staff and volunteers, and access our guides on cyber security essentials, threats and policies on the Digital Transformation Hub: Cyber Safe Hub: https://lnkd.in/es2FEsCb Digital Transformation Hub: https://lnkd.in/d5pWseay #cyberattack #cybersafety
