Join us next week at our T-Minus 3.0 event! We will highlight how non-Earth imaging improved space operations in 2024, including how we: 🚀 Visually monitored space debris in orbit and during reentry, providing invaluable insights and informing strategic decisions. 🛸 Identified and characterised newly launched satellites and unknown objects to address transparency concerns and maintain space and Earth safety. 🛰 Repurposed existing satellites during downtime and launched HEO NEI sensors as hosted payloads to capture imagery and expand our coverage of objects in space. Join us online or RSVP to receive the video recording after the event here: https://lnkd.in/gqNs5Bf8 #NEI #Nonearthimaging #Event #Space #Spacetech #Spaceevent #TMinus

Check out this behind-the-scenes look at Sidus Space's LizzieSat-2 📸! HEO's Holmes Imager is being integrated into the satellite on the bottom right, marked by the orange "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" cover. LizzieSat-2 will carry HEO’s NEI sensor to mid-inclination low-Earth orbit, marking our first NEI sensor there. This will increase our orbital diversity and enable higher-quality images and data on a range of new and previously covered space objects. Great partnership with Sidus Space! #partnership #nei #nonearthimaging #holmes #holmesimager #spacetech #ssa #sda
Behind the scenes at Sidus Space! Our dedicated team of technicians were hard at work on LizzieSat-2, meticulously assembling the intricate wiring and system integrations. Precision and expertise are key to advancing satellite technology. Stay tuned for more updates! #SidusSpace #LizzieSat2 #SatelliteTechnology #Payload #LaunchingLizzieSat

HEO was all over the APAC space industry last week! Special thanks to SPACETIDE Foundation, Australian Centre for Space Engineering Research (ACSER), UNSW Sydney and Secure World Foundation for hosting excellent discussions! 📸 HEO Co-Founder & CEO, Dr William Crowe, discussed the role of non-Earth imaging as part of the panel discussion on “How to Adapt In-Orbit Servicing to Shifting Satellite Infrastructure Demands and Regulatory Changes?” at SPACETIDE 2024. 📸 HEO Co-Founder & CTO, Dr Hiranya "HJ" Jayakody, highlighted HEO’s recent NEI camera launches and missions during the CubeSatPlus’s panel discussion on "Success Stories - Start-up to SME" (photo credit: Saber Astronautics) 📸 HEO Co-Founder & CEO, Dr William Crowe, with the HEO, BryceTech, and Secure World Foundation Scholarship winners to this year's 6th Summit for Space Sustainability in Tokyo. Special thanks to Space Generation Advisory Council for supporting the process. At the summit, Will participated in the Regional SSA Capabilities and Drivers roundtable discussion.

HEO captured images of the Resurs-P1 satellite in-orbit a number of times prior to the debris creation event. We’re seeing that Resurs-P1, P2, and P3 show anomalies around the deployment state of the solar arrays, which could explain what happened to Resurs-P1. We’re actively working to image the damaged spacecraft to determine if this is the case.

License To Image 📸 We’re excited to announce we’ve received approval from the NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration to operate our Holmes non-Earth imaging (NEI) camera as hosted payloads on US flagged space vehicles. Together with our proprietary HEO Inspect NEI tasking software, our cameras capture detailed images of resident space objects for commercial, civil and national security space related applications. NOAA’s approval officially licenses HEO USA to integrate Holmes cameras with US manufactured and launched satellites and conduct unrestricted imaging of objects in low-Earth orbit. This new capability enhances HEO’s existing network of in-space imaging sensors and provides expanded imaging opportunities across different orbital inclinations and altitudes. Another step towards imaging anything in the solar system on-demand! https://lnkd.in/gKuSfJPS Payload #SpaceInnovation #NonEarthImaging #HolmesImager #SpaceTech #SpaceExploration #Innovation #Resilience #NOAA

Airplane photobombs NEI 📸 While our primary focus at HEO is imaging other satellites, sometimes our machine learning algorithm gets tricked into detecting other objects in the frame. This time, it detected an airplane. Using HEO Inspect tools, our Space Mission Analysts identified it as Spirit Airlines' NKS1301 headed to Los Angeles. How can we tell? For satellites, we evaluate their shape, conduct material analysis, pinpoint where the image was captured on Earth, and track their trajectory. Turns out, these same techniques work pretty well for planes too! 🌍✈️🛰️

Celebrating one year in space for our Holmes Imager! On June 13, 2023, we launched the first commercial non-Earth imaging (NEI) camera, Holmes-003, aboard TURION SPACE’s DROID.001. As our first piece of hardware in space, the past 365 days weren't without challenges. Our team made significant progress to qualify our camera and showed resilience to overcome hurdles like a detached camera baffle. Some key milestones thus far include: 💡 Day 173: The aperture door opened and exposed Holmes to space. The second image shows Holmes capturing its first light and proving the successful end-to-end operations of the camera. 🌕 Day 314: Holmes' biggest test yet was capturing a photo of the Moon, which confirmed our camera’s focus and performance in the harsh space environment. 🛰 Day 365: Despite many iterations and experiments to get here, we are not done yet. Holmes-003 is one step closer to performing non-Earth imaging and delivering high-quality information and images to our customers. Stay tuned! #SpaceInnovation #NonEarthImaging #HolmesImager #SpaceTech #SpaceExploration #Innovation #Resilience

These are the very first images of EarthCare in space. From our network of space-based sensors, we captured European Space Agency - ESA and JAXA: Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's new satellite moments after it successfully deployed its solar panel in orbit. Satellite identification means mission success. We’re excited to see the contributions EarthCare will make to help us better understand our home world 🌍 #NonEarthImaging #NEI #Space #SpaceAwareness #SpaceDomain #Satellite #SatelliteImage #SatelliteIdentification
