Around the world, 50 million people are exploited, abused, and trafficked. 60% of trafficking occurs in the Asia Pacific region, and very few survivors get the care they need to rebuild their lives. Hagar walks the whole journey of restoration with individual survivors, empowers communities to prevent exploitation, and strengthens systems to protect those vulnerable to human trafficking, slavery and abuse.

Last week we had the pleasure of introducing our amazing Thailand country director, Tipranee Setphisut, to some of our donors and partners in Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth! Recently, we embarked on an inspiring journey through Cambodia, filming and working remotely on a short documentary about modern slavery. This intense period of reflection and hard work has taught us about finding #hope in the most challenging circumstances. It was an amazing experience, and I look forward to sharing more once we've distilled our heartwarming conversations into a piece that truly captures the vital work of Hagar and the incredible people behind it. For now, I'm excited to share that we've undertaken this meaningful project. Though challenging, it was really special to us. I want to give a special thank you to Andrew Catford who mentored me as an intern at Hagar all those moons ago who seeded the inspiration for this project. Without your guidance, I would not have cultivated such a deep seated passion for this space.

Between January and June of this year, 5,000 migrant workers and community members learned about human trafficking in Cambodia. Working in collaboration with local duty-bearers, Hagar Cambodia led targeted community awareness campaigns.
