Crimes of Fashion: Louise Klamka takes us down the catwalk where fashion meets competition law. Is the Birkin bag in a market of its own? Is 'accessible luxury' a contradiction in terms or a reason to keep Tapestry away from Capri? And how does this relate to industrial relations and ESG-washing? Plus supermarket discounts and the new Food and Grocery Code, new directions for competition law in the European Commission and the Courts, and the Australian Competition Tribunal gets ready for its new role in the merger review framework. All this and More Songs about Buildings and Food with co-hosts Moya Dodd AO and Matt Rubinstein of #TheCompetitiveEdge Listen now here: https://lnkd.in/gkFtDEme

Mario Draghi’s report released last week sounds the alarm that Europe has a limited current capacity to benefit from winner takes most dynamics, network effects and economies of scale which characterise the new digital world. As Andrew Low and Peter Waters discuss, Draghi’s message - applicable beyond the EU – is about the need to abandon ideological entrenchments in current ex ante and competition law, such as focusing solely on backward price effects, in favour of leaning into forward looking enhancements to quality and innovation in digital sectors. https://lnkd.in/gW-TDmGP
