Today is World Environment Day. This year’s theme is #GenerationRestoration – encouraging us to be the generation who help grow more forests, revive our water sources, and bring back soils. A terrific partnership ANZ have is with Greenspace ESG, a company who transform underutilised spaces within cities to vertical farms, producing sustainable food and flowers for nearby customers. Each week Greenspace stands are restocked at our offices in Melbourne and Sydney and our people are free to take some greens home with them for cooking. It’s usually cleared out in a couple of days! ANZ is also committed to supporting our customers' transition to net zero emissions by 2050 - you can find out more about our climate commitments here: https://lnkd.in/eEpxpsEf

Always was. Always will be. Greenspace is on a mission with Clarence Bruinsma and the Bush to Bowl team to spread the amazing flavour and benefits of Australia's Native crops. The first crop to be offered in our Microfarm system is Purslane. Check out the images to learn more about this incredible and delectable crop, and to discover one way to use it in your daily meals. Purslane has a lovely crunchy texture and is very high in Omega 3! It has/is used in many ways by First Nations people and we hope that more Australians can experience this amazing crop. Greenspace respects and acknowledges the Gadigal people that are the Traditional Custodians of the land our Macrofarm resides on. Pembroke was delighted to host Two Good Co at 20 Martin Place, Sydney, to serve their famous ‘Marinastrone’ and pumpkin soup, utilising herbs from our Micro herb garden, installed by Greenspace ESG. Two Good Co is a social enterprise that supports, empowers, and employs women with lived experience of domestic violence and homelessness. The ‘Marinastrone’ soup served to tenants is a family recipe from Marina, a graduate of Two Good's Work Work employment pathways program, which helps bridge a ‘love and skills’ gap for vulnerable people getting back on their feet and into the workforce after living in crisis. Nick Fox from Greenspace ESG, leant hand with serving and herb pairing, while talking to tenants about micro farming and the Two Good initiative. Greenspace are a community vertical farm service that make local produce sustainable and accessible, with nutrient-rich crops grown indoors. Tenants of 20 Martin Place have enjoyed fresh daily herbs since it was installed in April. Along with partners, we have been awarded significant funding in the latest ARC funding round, that supports industry-university research collaboration. $5 million for the ARC Research Hub in Intelligent Energy Efficiency in Future Protected Cropping, led by Distinguished Professor Tianyi Ma. $5 million for the ARC Training Centre in Electrifying Australia for a Net-zero Future, led by Professor Mahdi Jalili. These initiatives will help to drive innovation in these transformative industries. We're eager to contribute knowledge and solutions that benefit our communities and the environment. Incredible 3 day lobby pop-up with the Grosvenor Place Sydney community who, of course, love engaging with climate action and delicious produce in the Sydney CBD. Greenspace ESG Microfarm left 150 people excited to upgrade their work lunches with a nutritious and sustainably grown micro green of their choosing. They also left inspired by the leaps Greenspace ESG is making in the agricultural industry and food distribution system. There were plenty of "yummmss" after tasting their selected produce, and a lot of inspired smiles after hearing about Greenspace's revolution of local food production and distribution, sustainable farming, and ready to eat nutrient dense living produce.
