About us
Gray Puksand is a national architectural practice with studios on the lands of the Kulin Nation, the Eora Nation, the Ngunnawal and the Yuggera. We collaborate with clients from multiple sectors, and across our studios to create spaces that improve how people work, learn, and live. At Gray Puksand, we place people first, we build on knowledge, we lead through design, and we inspire. We’re proud to make a meaningful contribution. That’s been a hallmark of our practice for over 30 years. For us, what is more important than seeing a completed building is remembering the way we got there, and the difference that building will make. That is our legacy.

Gray Puksand has transformed the basement at 201 Kent Street into a bright, value-add wellness experience for tenants. The end-of-trip journey is built on a sequence of destinations reminiscent of the world’s best spas. The design concept centred around an "Urban Oasis", delivering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the Sydney CBD. The calming, wellness-centric space is complete with premium touches that leave patrons feeling relaxed, refreshed and invigorated. A neutral and textured base palette exudes understated luxury, while a unique sensory experience is created by playing with light and shade, rich tones, and intriguing textures. 📸: Chris Warnes Client: Investa Builder: SHAPE Australia Lighting: Lightwaves Explore the tranquil facilities at 201 Kent Street via the link below. https://lnkd.in/gxK8i8NS #GrayPuksand #201KentStreet #Sydney #CommercialDesign #Architecture

The new biomedical workshop at The Royal Women's Hospital has been delivered as the first stage of a larger project, which also encompasses the anaesthetic department and the birthing floor. As a result of the remodelling, the biomedical workshop was relocated to the lower ground floor, allowing Gray Puksand to design a bespoke space that accommodates the biomedical team's specific requirements for tools, flows, storage, technologies and communication. Previously treated as a utilitarian space, the workshop blends innovative healthcare design with the colours and textures of a forest. Special consideration has been given to the lighting design to counterbalance the lack of access to natural light. As Australian capital cities continue to experience rising office vacancy rates, some old office buildings are receiving a new lease on life, despite the state of the struggling sector. In our most recent blog, we sat down with our National Managing Partner, Nik Tabain, to discuss how adaptive reuse can bring buildings to life while exploring the design strategies implemented at our recently completed 412 St Kilda Road project. “412 St Kilda Road’s exceptionally high rate of occupancy speaks volumes about the value of adaptive reuse in the current property market. It demonstrates a clear demand for well-positioned commercial spaces that cater to the evolving needs of modern businesses,” said Nik.
