  • A proud moment for our senior project engineer Maggie Yu, seeing her hard work installed on the Ryan's Corner Wind Farm, south of the Grampians and west of Warrnambool in Victoria. As a proud female engineer in the power infrastructure industry, Maggie played an instrumental role in the project, coordinating the design process, production, and delivery of the powerline structures for this project. The Ryan’s Corner Wind farm connects 218MW of renewables generation to the AusNet grid. Well done, Maggie!! #WomenInEngineering

️⚡️ Goyder Augmentation 🤝 Client: Enerven  📍 Location: Goyder, S.A. Altering existing lines to enable new lines to pass underneath was no mean feat. But through working with our client to understand their specific needs, objectives and challenges, we were able to design to meet their requirements and conducted our usual practice, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA). We took a highly complex installation and executed it well and to the client’s satisfaction. Got a challenging project coming up? Reach out to Dean or Anthony to talk about how we can collaborate for better outcomes.

️⚡️ Prominent Hill SP4 and SP2 🤝 Client: UGL  📍 Location: Prominent Hill, S.A. With over 500 poles required across SP4 and SP2, we worked closely with our client and suppliers to ensure design requirements for both 132kV and 275kV were understood, and a smooth logistics process to remote locations. By using FEA as we always do, we were able to save the client time and money by avoiding full scale load testing. By understanding the bigger picture, we’re proudly able to deliver best-for-project solutions.

It’s been a busy but rewarding couple of weeks on our latest project. The crew are heading out on RnR with now what looks like a powerline in their rearview mirror. The known hard rock ground conditions onsite constantly tried to slow us down. However, a hundred or so teeth replacements and auger repairs later, we were able to drill, stand & prep the first stringing section ready for when we return. For those of you playing at home that’s 54 poles, 23 stays set and 12km of draw wire (2km line route) installed in a 17 day swing, by a small crew who are proactive in taking charge of “their” project. They address any risks & hazards that arise to keep themselves, subbies & others on this live mine site safe, and still sit down together at the end of the day around the table of knowledge to debrief. #CowellElectric
