Galserv is thrilled to announce our win of the 2024 inaugural Australian Steel Institute (ASI) Steel Sustainability Award for our Company Sustainability Initiative featuring the Australian Made Hydraulic Bracing - The Shore Brace 400. In partnership with Shore Hire, Galserv has showcased an innovative sustainability approach by specifically galvanizing the product for longevity and product design life, creating a unique ‘for-hire’ system. This design enables the system to be re-hired numerous times across various projects. Winning the ASI Sustainability Award is a tremendous honour, and we take pride in our dedicated team's continuous efforts to contribute to our customers' success. PROJECT SPOTLIGHT // Giving a for-hire product a long and robust life. The Shore Brace 400 is an Australian Made and engineered hydraulic bracing system designed and developed by client Shore Hire, who first engaged Galserv in late 2018 to discuss an R&D process. The Shore Brace 400 is used across earthworks, construction and development projects in Australia on a for-hire basis with heavy-duty and intricate steel sections requiring hot-dip galvanising. Due to the environmental conditions in excavation projects and the high repeat use of these items, galvanising was the preferred choice of surface coating for Shore Hire upon consultation with Galserv due to its longevity as a product. The Galserv team designed and developed a highly effective process to bring this to life for Shore Hire, enabling an Australian Made solution with lasting durability, reducing the carbon footprint associated with the product compared to single-use bespoke steel walers. The project consisted of 250 tonnes of individual components and won The Galvanizers Association of Australia 2023 Sorel Award for Innovation Use of Hot Dip Galvanizing. As the year wraps up, we're reflecting on a few of our most cherished projects from previous years and one that stands out is the Eagle Shelter in Kau-Ma Park, Fletcher, NSW. Proudly featured for our client Norththrop Consulting Engineers, this ARTSCAPE® shelter stands tall, becoming a focal point in an Aboriginal heritage conservation area.   Comprising of distinctive fabricated wings and various large structural components, Galserv was entrusted to hot-dip galvanize the structure. This process not only provided exceptional weathering resistance but also added a striking aesthetic impact.   For this project, Galserv managed all aspects of technical support and hot-dip galvanising through to delivery, overcoming challenges of scale with ease to deliver a stunning and robust finish to last decades.   Curious about how we can help your next project withstand the test of time? Recently, another impressive steel structure left Galserv, set for installation in telecommunications infrastructure. These massive cylinders, each 6 metres long and weighing over 1 tonne a piece, were safely processed by our capable team. The Galvanizers Association of Australia Conference 2023 was a great success, giving us an amazing opportunity to showcase our innovative use of #hotdipgalvanizing in collaboration with Shore Hire.   The annual gathering is pivotal in advancing the galvanising industry, bringing together members, suppliers, and experts for knowledge-sharing, innovation, and collaboration on emerging topics.    This year, sustainability and design life were once again crucial focus areas. We're proud to have demonstrated an innovative approach to sustainability in the 'Shore Brace 400' project, winner of this year's prestigious Sorel Award. The Sorel Award commemorates French civil engineer Stanislaus Sorel, who filed a patent in 1837 for a method of protecting iron from rust, and it is designed to highlight the high standards of corrosion protection achieved when hot dip galvanizing features as a critical component of a project.   "I couldn't be prouder of our team for this accomplishment, especially as we celebrate a significant milestone - 60 years in business", Says Galserv GM Joshua Nolan   "This success underscores our commitment to making our customers thrive.
