Will AI mean the "death of the salesforce"? "We believe AI will so fundamentally reimagine the core system of record and the sales workflows that no incumbent is safe. Instead of a text-based database, the core of the next sales platform will be multi-modal containing every customer insight from across the company...able to extract more insight from a customer and their mindset than we could ever piece together with the tools we have today." Spot Relevance AI 👀 on the Andreessen Horowitz market map. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gF7AX-mm

Unsure what to do with your life? Start climbing. Galileo Co-founder, James Alexander, joins Programmable podcast with some career advice: "Rather than try and over-optimise I recommend for people that don't know is to literally try lots of things, and you will discover very quickly the things you think are really boring and the things that you absolutely love." James likens it to the hill-climbing algorithm in Computer Science: you randomly drop onto the terrain and start walking to find the tallest hill. “And the trick is if you discover something you don't like…move on quickly. Don't sit and try to force yourself to like it.” Programmable EP #5 also covers James's: 🛠️ Best advice for students starting a startup 💸 How he makes investment decisions 🔮 His predictions for industries to join Tune in below 👇 https://lnkd.in/gWB_kDiU

From conservationist to founder 🦜 Dr Debbie Saunders quest to track tiny endangered birds led her on an unexpected journey from the forests of Eastern Australia to the cutting edge of drone technology. Joining as a guest speaker for our latest Jupiter women founder program she discussed the journey from researcher to startup founder and the challenges involved. "Tracking animal movements has always been fascinating to me. At a glance, their movements might seem random and unpredictable. But if you look closer, you might understand what factors are driving where they go and why." Check out the full article below. https://lnkd.in/gWjQzhKk

I really enjoyed being on Galileo Ventures #podcast talking about the #gender funding gap - esp. after Lighter Capital's report (thanks Melissa Widner) which highlighted - yet again - that this is still a big issue in the #startup ecosystem. With James Alexander I talk about: * Why the gender gap persists in #venturecapital * The challenges for #female #founders * Practical tips for women raising their first round of #funding * The role of investors in supporting diverse teams and fostering inclusivity. Being keen to do more than just talk about the issue, Galileo have devised a course for women founders called Jupiter, which I am facilitating from next week. You can find more about it here (and its not too late to sign up!): https://lnkd.in/gm6SPHk9 Thanks to all the great women and men I have met along the way who are actively trying to help out, call out to UNSW Founders who set up New Wave (to get great women founders started with the basics) and continue to do great work in all their programs: Nina Juhl Kristen Phillips Lucas Hakewill (OK you are no longer there but did heaps!) Dina Titkova David Burt Also, this podcast is just generally good (and very funny) so give the rest a listen while you are at it!
