Fortescue Metals CEO Dino Otranto and Gabonese Minister for Mines Gilles Nembé have taken the stage at the Gabon-China Economic Forum in Beijing. The panel discussed our Ivindo Iron Belinga Iron Ore project and the importance of investing in transport and logistics corridors in the region.

Fortescue has taken home the IMPACT Green Hydrogen Project of the Year award at the 2024 Hydrogen Impact Investment Awards.   The Hydrogen Impact Investment Awards celebrates companies and individuals for their excellent business strategies, innovative achievements, outstanding accomplishments of projects and their social responsibility throughout the hydrogen supply chain.   This recognition highlights our global efforts in green hydrogen.   Thank you to Kamlesh Parida, Group Manager Sales Origination Europe, and the team for representing Fortescue.

It’s results day and we’ve got another CEO for a Day. 💼 Angus Lane joined us through the VTEC program in January last year, and is now in our Eliwana mine site drill and blast team. He’s a Badimaya, Yamatji, Warlpiri, Warumungu and Arrernte man. Angus’ message to other First Nations leaders is to give everything a go, to not let yourself get in the way of what you can achieve. “Life isn’t always easy, but it’s about the journey and being your best self, in every aspect of life.” he said. “My family is what truly inspires me. I wanted something different than the opportunities I was offered in my country town. I want to show the younger generation that you can be different and not to be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.”

Our full year results for FY24 are in 🎉   Our team has rallied 👏 together to help us achieve our third highest earnings in  Fortescue’s 21-year history. Along with our lowest EVER Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate of 1.3 across our iron ore operations, coupled with a C1 cost for hematite of us$18.24/wmt and strong performing iron ore shipments. We are proud to have achieved a total global economic contribution of A$27.5 billion in FY24, including A$6.1 billion in corporate taxes and State royalties.   We did all of this while maintaining momentum in our mission to decarbonise which was helped along with the establishment of Fortescue Zero and the introduction of electric ⚡️ excavators. As well as our battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell haul truck prototypes showed the world what we can do.   Check below 👇 for more highlights

We marked a new milestone 🌟 in our drive for a green future.    Work 🛠️ has officially begun on our Green Metal Project, located at our Green Energy Hub in Christmas Creek. Starting our journey in building a green metal supply chain ⛓️ to produce high purity green metal suitable for almost any global 🌎 steel plant.   Powered  🔌 by our gaseous and liquid hydrogen facility (the largest of its kind in Australia!) together with an electric smelting furnace, we anticipate to produce more than 1,500 tonnes of green 🟢 metal per annum, with first production in 2025.    Read 📖 more https://lnkd.in/gaQcnQJh
