Never one to shy away from the difficult issues, Greg Combet AM today laid out the plan to tackle the biggest economic change we’ll face as a nation this century. As Chair of Australia’s Net Zero Economy Agency, he talked through next steps at his National Press Club address today. Inclusion, innovation, opportunity and the undeniable fact our biggest coal customers are going net zero. Like most developed economies. Greg’s message is clear: let’s get out in front so we are not left behind. Transition will never be easy. The economy needs leaders who talk straight and take real action so everyone benefits and nobody is left behind. Investor, climate minister, public servant, problem solver. We’ve known Greg for more than a decade, from when he was climate minister in the Gillard Govt and as union members in the movement he led as ACTU secretary. At its core, transition is about how we work , how we live and thrive. Delivering fairness through it all is critical.
