About us

FDC was conceived in 1990 on the principle that the journey of building was as important as the outcome itself. The building process can (and should) be an enjoyable one, with knowledge shared, value added and relationships established in a collective effort to deliver the client an outstanding project. The FDC Group today remains focused on creating the best team to address each project, whether that includes just one or all of our operating divisions. We work hard for our clients, work positively with consultants and seek innovation through collaboration. We have accredited integrated management systems covering quality, safety and the environment across all our divisions and commit resources to ensure education and enforce compliance. Over three decades on, our team comprises over 500 staff across 6 offices. We provide an enjoyable workspace, good facilities, mateship, mentoring and an egalitarian organisational structure. We employ great people and have minimal staff turnover. FDC value people, process and profit, for these are intrinsically linked in any successful enterprise. Most of all, we value the clients and supporters that provide us the continuing opportunities to do what we do so well. It is why we work hard to contribute to their success ... for we know it will ensure our own.

As part of NAIDOC Week celebrations, FDC attended the inaugural KARI Corporate Games on Bidjigal and Gadigal Country in Little Bay, Sydney. Led by the KARI Foundation, the aim of the day was to provide hands-on cultural experiences that are both educational and empowering. Through various activation across art, cooking with traditional ingredients, cultural trivia and traditional Indigenous games, our team came away with a bronze medal and were able to immerse in the diversity and vitality of First Nations culture and Keep the Fire Burning. Thank you to the KARI Foundation for this valuable and innovative opportunity. #NAIDOC2024 #NAIDOCWeek #BlakLoudProud #fdc #fdcgroup #madepersonal

We've reached new heights at Charter Hall's Ascent on Bourke Development. Last week, our project team along with our client, Charter Hall, celebrated and honoured the timeless tradition of topping out, marking the completion of the building's structural framework. Since taking possession in April 2023, the collective team has accomplished an incredible feat in such an important and impressive build. Over the last 14 months, the construction has included: - 223 concrete piles with an average depth of 30 metres (some being as close as 2m from the Sydney Trains Tunnel). - 4500 tonne of structural steel including 11,000 individual members with 140,000 nuts and bolts. - 460 precast panels, some as heavy as 18 tonne. - Poured 10,000m3 of concrete across 34,000sqm. This was done over 50 major concrete pours back-to-back over a 12-week period. This milestone wouldn't be possible without the dedication of our client Charter Hall, delivery partners in Project Strategy, Costin Roe and Nettletontribe who's collaboration and vision has shaped this development as well as all the subcontactors who provide expertise and insightful knowledge throughout this build. We look forward to the continuation of building Sydney's first inner city, large scale, multi-storey warehouse facility for Charter Hall and their anchor tenants, Schindler Group and Coles Group. As we recognise NAIDOC Week and this year's theme 'Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud', we honour the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture. The fire symbolises the deep connection to Country, the bonds within communities, and the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our unwavering commitment to our Reconciliation Action Plan has led us to a higher engagement of Cultural Awareness Training and Indigenous registered business than ever before. But we're not done. We will continue to 'Keep the Fire Burning!' for First Nations people and culture. #NAIDOC2024 #NAIDOCWeek #BlakLoudProud #fdc #fdcgroup #madepersonal

We are proud to add another remarkable project to FDC SA's portfolio at One Festival Tower: the Mott MacDonald office fitout. This project encompasses the entire 1,900sqm floor plate of Level 17, creating a modern and functional workspace that promotes collaboration and flexibility, complemented by sweeping 360-degree views of Adelaide. The office entrance and front of house areas required a high level of coordination and attention to detail; the feature metalwork screen is a standout element along with the custom feature ceilings and lighting. The fitout comprises of open working areas, meeting rooms, boardrooms, breakout areas, a kitchen, secure working rooms, and dedicated parents and wellness rooms. Employees will have access to the latest innovative IT and AV integration, enhancing productivity and efficiency, whilst the design focuses on sustainability and inclusivity within the workplace. We've broken ground at Australia's largest intermodal logistics precinct. Together with LOGOS Property, FDC have turned the first patch of soil at the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct - a momentous occasion as we mark the commencement of this remarkable construction project and the beginning of a new chapter for the future of Australian logistics. The ground-breaking ceremony symbolises more than just the physical act of breaking ground. It represents the realisation of a vision and progress towards a facility offering unparalleled supply chain benefits, warehousing opportunities and sustainability advantages. LOGOS are leading the way in setting new benchmarks for sustainable outcomes in Australian industrial developments. The reduction in freight vehicles alone will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 110,000 tonnes of CO2 each year whilst the solar and microgrid installation will save a further 67.2 kilotonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The site area for Stage 1 is 160,000sqm comprising of Warehouses 1,2 and 5. There will be 30,000m3 of concrete poured and 2000 tonnes of structural steel erected. Importantly, the structural steel is being delivered direct from the port via train to the intermodal terminal, already positively impacting on the sustainability in the building process. FDC are proud to be delivering this phase of the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct together with LOGOS along with consultants Watson Young, Costin Roe and Northrop. Creating a vibrant and elevated experience for shoppers, the delivery of the Valley Central Shopping Centre Redevelopment Project was a demonstration of exceptional communication and leadership skills, achieving a high standard of quality and a proud project outcome. Internal and external works were undertaken to accommodate the addition of Fountain Valley Medical Centre, Happy Valley Dental, REVO Fitness, and associated specialty shops, whilst providing the existing centre with an upgraded fitout and services upgrade, new facade, roof replacement, new main front entrance tower, undercover promenade seating along the front of the centre, and associated carpark and landscaping works. Each stage of construction was meticulously planned, working closely with all stakeholders, to ensure the safety and accessibility for all. This project was delivered while the shopping centre remained fully operational. Close collaboration with all stakeholders was fundamental to ensuring that there was minimal disruption to shoppers, tenants, and the general public. FDC is pleased to have raised an incredible $415,555 for our selected giving partner - Boys to the Bush (BttB) - in this year's Ride to Give, while donating more than $30,000 to regional communities along the route. Covering 485km over three days from Young to Canberra, 65 FDC riders and friends heard first-hand from the BttB team on their personal stories. Focusing on prevention and early intervention strategies, BttB supports some of our communities' most vulnerable boys in becoming good men in the future. Funds raised will fund a new depot in Forbes, a new boat in Young, and a minibus for travel in Echucha. Additional funds will be invested into camp fees for over 40 kids who otherwise would've been unable to afford it. A sincere thank you to the connections and communities we met along the way including teachers, kids and parents at Crookwell and Gundaroo Public Schools; the Rapid Relief teams in Young and Goulburn; Wiradjuri Country Elders, Marnie Freeman and Stewart James Freeman; Young Preschool; The Young Girl Guides; Harden CWA; Binalong Community Club; Yass Valley S.P.I.N Foundation (Lion's); Beau Cosgrove and the Cosgrove family; Convoy for Kids Goulburn; and Ngunnawal Elder, Serena Williams. Congratulations to our passionate riders and supporters in achieving this remarkable contribution through your physical and mental efforts. Giving back to the wider community is core to our essence at FDC, it is a pursuit that has a positive impact on our internal teams and the communities we help to build. It's giving, made personal. In pursuit of an innovative, dynamic, and reimagined workspace, the Global Financial Institution's refurbishment in the heart of Sydney's CBD caters to the diverse workstyles of its people. Encompassing 16,200sqm across 9 floors, the fitout works introduced new finishes, workstations, a client centre, cafe, end-of-trip facilities and kitchen breakout areas. Given the project's live environment, meticulous staging and temporary swing stages were carried out, ensuring a seamless continuum of operations for staff, minimising any disruptions to business operations.
