Expressions of Interest are now open to renew a 3.6-hectare site at Blackwattle Bay, currently home to the existing Sydney Fish Market. The landmark site will bring together homes, jobs, and cultural experiences. Over half of the precinct will be public domain, while a world-class waterfront walkway will provide the missing link from Rozelle to Barangaroo and the Opera House. This opportunity represents a once-in-a-generation waterfront renewal project in the inner city and a vital part of Sydney’s future. Expressions of Interest are now open, closing on 19 August 2024. Recently, the UNSW Civil and Environmental Engineering Society (CEVSOC) and the Surveying Society UNSW held their annual Industrial Training Night, with over 115 students, staff, and academics in attendance. This event is aimed at students to gain insight into the industrial training process, a mandatory requirement of an undergraduate engineering degree. Our speakers Alessandro Ciuffetelli and Lucas Jordan shared their insights, guidance, and an overview of the work environment at E3 Advisory. It was a fantastic chance to meet up-and-coming students, answer questions, and bring together fresh perspectives on the infrastructure industry and civil engineering more broadly. Thank you to all those in attendance, and for the UNSW Societies CEVSOC and SURVSOC for organising this event.

E3 Advisory is thrilled to announce Senior Advisor promotions for four team members who have truly shined in their roles. Their commitment to leadership, advisory excellence, and providing value to clients sets a great example for young professionals in our business and the industry.   Andrew Walker has contributed to some of Australia’s most interesting projects, including Sydney Opera House Capital Works, TfNSW’s Digital Systems, Sydney Metro, Melbourne Metro, and Fast Rail. Most recently, he played a significant role in the transaction services for the M1 Princes Motorway upgrade at Mt Ousley Interchange and the transformation of Sydney’s Opal ticketing system. He has helped clients solve complex problems relating to cost estimating, asset valuation, transaction services, and forensic analysis.   Daniel Smith has been a key contributor to the procurement and commercial teams on TfNSW’s Digital Systems, Circular Quay Renewal Program, Sydney Metro City & Southwest, Transport Access Program, Sydney Growth Trains Project, and Parramatta Light Rail Program. Most recently, he advised the Australian Antarctic Division on a competitive program alliance procurement for upgrading facilities in Antarctica and has established himself as a trusted advisor to the leadership team on the Sydney Desalination Plant Expansion Project.   Hamish Grenfell has worked for major engineering contractors, engaging in all stages of the project lifecycle, with a particular focus on tunneling and civil construction. Since joining E3 Advisory, Hamish has played key roles in project delivery, disputes, procurement, and strategic costing assignments. He has developed his expertise in time, cost, and risk, contributing greatly to our growing project review, commercial, integrated project controls, and contract service offerings.   Mark Whittam is a civil engineer with experience in the Australian and UK construction industry, delivering project management and advisory services encompassing all aspects of the project lifecycle. Mark has held management roles on a range of construction projects, including residential and commercial developments, as well as large infrastructure delivery. A career highlight was his four-year stint on the Bond Street Station Project for Crossrail in the UK. Since joining E3 Advisory, Mark has become a trusted advisor to the Brisbane City Council for the Brisbane Metro Project.   E3 Advisory strives to provide a supportive and nurturing environment where our people can grow and progress in their careers.   Please join us in congratulating Andrew, Daniel, Hamish, and Mark on this significant milestone.   #e3advisory #senioradvisor #promotions #excellence #advisory

The Kangaroo Point Bridge is now 85% complete, with the 182.7 metre main span of the bridge now fully connected from the CBD to Kangaroo Point. The major structural elements of the bridge are complete and the bridge deck over the Brisbane River is now self-supported, with the eye-catching 32-cable stay system fully installed and tensioned. The bridge is expected to open in late 2024, and once opened the bridge will cut travel times by up to 50% for some bridge users, saving pedestrians up to 30 minutes when walking from both Kangaroo Point and The Gabba to the CBD. Last week, E3 Advisory’s Sydney Office had the incredible opportunity to attend a backstage tour of the Sydney Opera House. The visit was arranged by our very own Executive Advisor Ian Cashen. Ian was the Executive Director for Building, Safety, and Security, at the Sydney Opera House, overseeing the successful delivery of the ‘Decade of Renewal’, the largest capital works project undertaken since its construction in 1973. The team embarked on a journey through the Opera House, learning about its history and construction, and exploring the new underground loading dock, refurbished Concert Hall, and the Joan Sutherland Theatre. The detailed accounts of the intricate acoustic, safety, and logistical design challenges, along with their innovative solutions, made for an unforgettable experience for attendees. A special thanks to the Opera House’s building team for facilitating this visit, especially Paul Najor and Greg Nixon for being so generous in sharing their time, knowledge, and experience. #E3Advisory #SydneyOperaHouse #Innovation #Infrastructure

E3 Advisory is thrilled to share that our Melbourne Principal, Scott Cooper, has returned from a transformative experience at Harvard Law School's prestigious Program on Negotiation. Established in 1983, this program is at the forefront of negotiation and dispute resolution education.    Scott honed his negotiation skills, learning to identify, create, and claim value at the negotiation table. He explored frameworks for navigating complex relationships and establishing impactful connections, and gained experience in skilfully managing emotions and steering challenging discussions. Scott even managed to catch the solar eclipse.    The program welcomed a diverse cohort of leaders, from lawyers to government officials to investors and bankers. This melting pot of perspectives enriched the learning experience.    At E3 Advisory, we foster a culture where continuous personal and professional development is celebrated. To support this, we offer our team additional paid study leave and allowances for further education.    Lifelong Learning is an investment in our peoples’ future, our firm's growth, and the superior service we provide to our clients. We're excited to see how Scott's new skills will contribute to E3 Advisory’s collective success!    #LifelongLearning #ProfessionalGrowth #NegotiationSkills #E3Empowers
