The first release of seismic data collected through the WA Array project is now available 🙌 WA Array data will help exploration companies identify the next big mineral discoveries as well as evaluate future competing land uses, mitigate seismic hazards and maximise WA’s opportunities in the transition to net-zero emissions by mapping out the State’s geology. This is done by using instruments called seismometers to measure naturally occurring vibrations within the Earth, one region of the State at a time. The first region is the South West. Our Private Sector Labour Relations (PSLR) team is responsible for regulating and promoting employer compliance with state employment laws and investigating complaints by employees about unpaid wages and entitlements under these laws, including long service leave. In the 2023–24 year, industrial inspectors from PSLR recovered over $500,000 in underpayments on behalf of employees. If you believe you have been underpaid wages or leave entitlements, you can make a complaint 👉 https://ow.ly/xmZP50TSeqM

Our Resource and Environmental Compliance Executive Director Tyler Sujdovic recently contributed to a panel discussion at the Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE). Addressing the topic of collaborative strategies for sustainable decommissioning, Tyler spoke of the role of regulators in promoting sustainable decommissioning and encouraged industry to continue engaging with community and other stakeholders about successful decommissioning outcomes. Following industry consultation this year, the department released a decommissioning policy and guideline, outlining best-practice expectations 👉 https://ow.ly/5reG50TSerM
