Discovering opportunities for improvement in major metropolitan health services! 🌍 Emergency departments (ED) play a critical role in patient care but are facing increasing strain. 🩺 In 2021/22, Australian hospitals experienced over 8.8 million ED presentations, overwhelming existing systems and processes. 😰 Recently, Nous Group worked closely with a health service overseeing multiple EDs to assess their operational and clinical governance, identifying areas for improvement, and create action-based recommendations. 💡 They conducted extensive research and engagement to improve the performance of emergency departments. Through benchmarking, document analysis, focus groups, surveys, and interviews, they designed over 30 recommendations for workforce, care delivery, safety, leadership, and supporting systems. 👉 As a result, creating a compelling journey map that highlights the critical moments for patients and staff. #healthcare #improvement #innovation #collaboration #patientcare #metropolitanhealthservice
