We were pleased to host the semi-finals of the 2024 Diverse Women in Law (DWL) Criminal Law Witness Examination and Civil Law Moot student competitions in Sydney earlier this week. Each finalist was provided with a barrister coach ahead of the evening, and competed before Her Honour Judge Noman SC, Her Honour Judge Kumar, Her Honour Judge Gallagher and our head of commercial litigation Mark Wilks, developing case theories, navigating evidentiary issues, and examining and cross-examining witnesses. The competitions are part of DWL’s Advocacy Program, which provides an invaluable opportunity for students to develop their professional skills, meet fellow diverse peers, and network with accomplished legal advocates.
