Following his panel discussion at The Australian Financial Review Infrastructure Summit yesterday, our partner Samy Mansour was mentioned in the AFR on the review into toll-road contracts. Samy noted that governments had already intervened in the domestic gas and coal market. “What is interesting about toll roads is that it’s not just societal impact, it is societal value that is being questioned. That will increase over time.” Read the article with an AFR subscription: https://lnkd.in/gxFQ-YHy #AFRInfrastructureSummit

Proudly Australian. Globally connected.
About us
We are one of Australia's oldest and largest law firms, with offices in six cities, nearly 200 partners, and a full range of legal services for large private sector and government clients. But we're more interested in talking about you, and with you. It's why, wherever you are, we give you advice that connects with you. Advice that isn't just a one-size-fits-all solution taken off a shelf, but that reflects who you are, and what you need. Advice created by lawyers with different experiences and different views, but united by an entrepreneurial spirit, a can-do attitude, confidence in each other, and pride in helping you achieve. As you might have noticed, we like speaking plainly. While we like thinking creatively to help you, we won't give you an answer hidden by legal jargon, or that doesn't reflect our honest opinion. Our clients value that, and trust us with their most important work. And we work hard to deserve that trust.

The 2024 Presidential Election is shaping up as being one of the most unusual and significant of all time. Has a fresh candidate in the shape of Kamala Harris changed the race, and how Trump campaigns? What does the average voter think of it all – and whose vote matters? Steven Klimt is joined by two experts in US politics, distinguished political scientist Simon Jackman and former Democrat staffer turned Visiting Fellow at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney Bruce Wolpe to explore the complexities of voting American style, and what could happen in the next few days. Last Friday, our Partner, Hugh Brolsma, stepped out of his comfort zone to support a cause close to his heart and raise funds for the Children's Cancer Institute. As part of the #CEODareToCure2024, he took a thrilling jump from a 7-meter stunt platform – about the height of a two-storey house! This year alone, over 1,000 families in Australia will hear the words ‘your child has cancer’. Tragically, cancer remains the leading cause of death for children in our country, claiming nearly three young lives each week. Hugh has raised just over $5,000 towards the Children’s Cancer Institute’s goal of $1.75 million. With a matching grant from the Clayton Utz Foundation, his total contribution will exceed $10,000. Since 2003, Clayton Utz has proudly supported the Children’s Cancer Institute through the Clayton Utz Foundation and as a pro bono client. The funds raised will help further the Institute’s mission to save young lives and improve their long-term health outcomes through essential research. If you’d like to support this important cause, please visit: https://lnkd.in/gSTNb5UY Thank you for your support! #DareToCure #ChildrensCancerInstitute
