📢 Breaking news for working parents in Australia! From July 1, 2025, parents on government Paid Paid Parental Leave will now receive a superannuation contribution. For too long, many parents—particularly women—have faced significant financial setbacks from time out of the workforce. In fact, women retire with 25% less superannuation than men, perpetuating systemic inequality. These changes will go some way in securing a better financial future for women and work towards bridging the gender pay gap. This new legislation is a victory, but it’s only one step forward. #ParentalLeave #Superannuation #WorkingParents #Equity #Inclusion #WorkplaceBenefits #DiversityAndInclusion

This recent campaign is a masterclass in stealthy and simple but powerful messaging. Adding baby carriers to some of London's most iconic male statues has highlighted an issue that can no longer be ignored: the UK's paternity leave, which ranks as the worst in Europe. These aren't just random statues either—imagine Laurence Olivier at the South Bank, Gene Kelly in Leicester Square, Thierry Henry at the Emirates and Tony Adams at Arsenal’s home, all reimagined as fathers. It’s a striking visual, but more importantly, it's a powerful push for greater equality in parental leave policies in the UK, which currently only offers two weeks of paternity leave. #ParentalLeave #FathersMatter #EqualityInParenting #WorkplaceEquality

Dad Shift's campaign is genius in its simplicity. By attaching life-sized baby slings to iconic male statues across London, they're shining a spotlight on a critical issue: the UK's woeful paternity leave, the worst in Europe. They didn't choose just any statues. Imagine strolling past the regal Laurence Olivier at the South Bank, suddenly a father. Or Gene Kelly, mid-dance outside Leicester Square, cradling a baby. Then there's Thierry Henry near the Emirates, and Tony Adams at Arsenal’s home. Each one transformed, reminding us of the importance of father-baby bonding and the need for parental equality. Bravo. It's about time we shift the conversation. UPDATE - it seems that this creative idea is not the original as it had been done before by the brilliant Pregnant Then Screwed, masterminded by Sophie Lucas. Their campaign ran back in October last year, but due to events in Israel/Palestine, the coverage got lost. The BBC piece is here: https://lnkd.in/eCdEdE3C Credit where credit is due.

Mother, three-time Paralympian as well as an Inclusion Advisor at our customer, Medibank - is there anything Shelley Matheson, PLY can't do? “There are so many things that we are already doing in our organisation that make it so much easier for a person with a disability to work in. In addition to this, we don’t work towards an end point, we are constantly working to be better in all aspects, constantly evolving in what we’re doing and how we do things. We embrace our differences and that, in my eyes, is progressive and impactful.” -Shelley Matheson This is such a great read 👇 📖

To finish out the week, we wanted to share some tips on mindfulness meditation. Practicing mindfulness can be very beneficial for managing stress and improving your mental health and general wellbeing. But for a lot of people, it can be difficult to know where to start. Here are three tips to get the ball rolling: 🧠 Find an App that works for you - Ultimately it comes down to your personal preference but do a little research to see what works. Smiling Mind is a great one to try out! 🧠 Start small and keep it brief – In the beginning, start with 2 minutes a day of mindfulness meditation practice. 🧠 Have a plan - Write down where and what time you plan to meditate (as many times as you can) and for how long. Do you have a meditation practice?
