Expressions of Interest to join the Advisory Committee for the National Carer Strategy are now open.   Do you have experience helping and supporting a family member or friend with disability, a chronic medical condition, mental illness or who is frail due to age? Are you interested in working with government to make sure the new National Carer Strategy reflects the diverse experiences and needs of Australia’s carers?   The Department is looking for people with lived experience to join the National Carer Strategy Advisory Committee. Last Thursday, during National Carers Week was the launch of Parliamentary Friends of Carers, which has been formed in partnership with Lucy Hood MP and Heidi Girolamo MLC to further the education of parliamentarians about Carers. We along with many Carers had the pleasure of attending Parliament House and sitting in the audience to hear many MPs recognise and appreciate the invaluable effort of Carers Thanks so much Lucy Hood MP and Heidi Girolamo MLC for establishing this really important group.
