But getting to make beer with our mates who just happen to be some of the best brewers on earth is one of the great honours of this profession and quite frankly a delicious little loophole. BIRTHDAY REFLECTION #3 - COMMUNITY - Because of beer we have been involved in so many good things. Over the years this humble drink has rallied our staff and community to achieve great things together. Whether raising money for MND via are dear friend Doctor Ian Davis, the bushfire appeal, the flood relief efforts, or raising money for families in need you’ve always come with us to do great things raising millions along the way. On our 8th Birthday we are thankful for you and thankful beer for being the conduit to bring us together. 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝟏: MF leading the charge at his charity golf day which has raised over 900K to date delivered directly to those left struggling in the wake of the 2022 floods. 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝟐: MF and Neil Daniher at the Beast Tamer MND Fundraiser. 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝟑: The great Dr Ian Davis who pulled together Brewmanity and Balter to brew a beer called the Beast Tamer. You’d go on to raise 50K with us that day. 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝟒: The mighty Fyds... the best friend @Azawaters and by default he became ours. One of many beautiful families you’ve rallied around in the name of community. 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝟓: Showing up in droves to raise 30K for the bushfire appeal all by simply bending your elbow. 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐭 6: Many Balter staff joined the community rescue and clean up efforts. This is Our Brewery Manager @azawaters and CEO/Co Founder @Antmacdonold. If you knew how unreliable Macca's boat was you'd truly understand how brave Aza is.

BIRTHDAY REFLECTION #2 - TINS OF GLORY - We've always said what happens around beer is as important as the beer itself. So in the pursuit of making the very best beer we could, we also wanted to create the very best moments we could. Tinnie Hurling was born. Each year we celebrate the world's greatest Tinnie Hurlers at Tins Of Glory. A sport inspired by Tom Cruise slinging drinks down a bench in the movie Cocktail. What started as a taproom challenge of slinging tins down our 12m Caesar stone bench quickly transformed into a fully fledged sport, and literally from a dream. "After chatting with friends I went home and that night and went to bed restless" says Stirls (Tinnie Hurling inventor). "At 2am I had this dream and the whole thing played out in real time. I woke up and started scribbling down every detail. I drew the table, wrote down a bunch of game play rules and then went back to sleep. In the morning it could have been a page gibberish and scribble, but it was a fully fledged sport. A sport that would bring immense enjoyment to all who play it. Thanks for the notepad beside my bed and thanks Tom Cruise." Here's a look at the first video we ever made. Like most Balter clips full of our staff and friends and Stirls even recorded the singing components of the song. For our 8th Birthday it's only fitting the World Tinnie Hurling Champs will be on this weekend! Come down to Balter HQ on Saturday and get involved. It’s our 8th Birthday this Friday! To celebrate 8 years since we poured our first beer this week we’ll take a little run down memory lane and reflect on 8 moments that have shaped us. The events, the beers, the people and even some of the absurd videos we’ve whacked together in the spirit of enjoyment! We hope you enjoy this little nostalgia trip and thanks for sharing it with us along the way 🍻🫶🏼 #withenjoyment Shot 1: Bede’s big old grin. The original with enjoyment inspiration. What you can’t see here is his broken pelvis. A wipe out at Pipeline left him broken in two and unable to walk. He was told he’d be lucky surf again let alone compete. Bede kept his grin, applied himself to the rehab and 12 months later he’d be back on tour competing a whole year and then retiring on his terms. Always grinning. Leeegend. Shot 2: MF and Kerrzy dropping a keg off to Rick Shores. We delivered around 40 kegs in our first week. It felt so good. Our largest keg week to date has been 6892. Still feels good : ) Shot 3: Parko posing in front of the kegs while Scotty fills them. The kegs have since been made into Bar Stools. Shot 4: The founders at our first ever Balter event in Cooly. For the 4th time we got most beers in the 100, this year alongside @coopersbrewery who had an incredible 5 beers as well. Cerveza in at #45 got the No.1 new beer and alongside XPA at #2 Eazy came in at #23, HAZY at #42 and old Captain hanging in at #72. Big shout out to @mountainculturebeerco for the win and to perennial podium lords @bentspokebeer. To all the other beer in the 100 congrats!
