AFMA's General Counsel David Love had the opportunity to appear before the Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services on the wholesale investor and wholesale client tests inquiry. AFMA was pleased to discuss with the committee the need for reform in this space to bring simplicity and clarity to establish an easily understood, consistent boundary between retail and wholesale markets and products.

AFMA was delighted to hold a Foreign ADI Policy and Supervisory Roundtable with APRA and members last week. The Roundtable forms part of AFMA’s ongoing productive engagements with APRA and was well attended by member CROs, COOs, CCOs and Country General Managers from almost 30 AFMA member Foreign ADIs. Topics discussed included APRA’s new ‘pooled supervisory model’, in addition to stress testing, climate risk plus governance, operational resilience, and liquidity requirements.
