Water is a precious resource that we cannot live without. The National Construction Code (NCC) Volume Three, the Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) includes requirements on water efficiency for plumbing and drainage systems which help them be more sustainable. Some examples of how plumbing and drainage systems can be more sustainable include installing water-efficient fixtures and fixtures with lower flow rates such as showerheads, toilets, and taps. The National Construction Code sets the minimum required level for the health, safety, amenity, accessibility, and sustainability of new plumbing systems in Australia. Together, the Building and Plumbing Codes of Australia form the NCC. Find out more at abcb.gov.au #PlumbingCodesofAustralia #BuildingCodesofAustralia #NCC

🏙️ Today we celebrate World Skyscraper Day by understanding which building classification they fall under. 💭 Did you know the National Construction Code does not define a ‘skyscraper’ under one particular building classification? This is because the classification depends on the building's use and skyscrapers can have multiple classifications. If it’s a building only with residential apartments, then it would be a Class 2 building. If it’s an office building, that would be classified as a Class 5 building. To find out more about building classifications, and test your knowledge of the classification of your favourite skyscraper, visit: https://lnkd.in/gyYsS3k3 #WorldSkyscraperDay #AustralianBuildingCodesBoard #NCC

Having a well-designed layout of plumbing and drainage fixtures is a critical part of providing an accessible space that everyone can use. Plumbing codes play an important role. The National Construction Code (NCC) Volume Three, the Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA), includes accessibility requirements. For example, a bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower should have accessible supply taps or other operational controls that are suitable for use.
