We're proud to share that Ausgrid has won the 2024 AFR Energy Awards for Community Engagement. This award recognises the fantastic work of our Community Battery Engagement team for their comprehensive engagement with local communities across our network. We are committed to working with our communities, and we understand how important it is to support the delivery of new energy infrastructure. Listening to and incorporating community feedback led us to switch on Australia’s first EV charger and shared rooftop solar connections to multiple local community batteries across our network. #Ausgrid #EV #electrification The Australian Financial Review

At times our crews are working overnight on critical projects to maintain reliable power supply. Our Transmission Overhead team were recently onsite at Kurnell replacing a section of overhead earthing wire. These protect the main powerlines from lightning and fault conditions. This forms part of the first stage to replace overhead earth wires on a section of the line from Shark Park to our substation in Kurnell, and part of a larger project to renovate this line originally constructed in the early 60’s. This line delivers power to the south of the city, ensuring reliable supply to critical infrastructure, including the water desalination plant and Sydney Airport. Thanks to the team for their expertise and commitment to working under challenging conditions, safely and efficiently, minimising disruption for our customers. We recently hosted a site tour for 15 Electrical and Mechatronics students from the University of Newcastle at our Argenton and Jesmond substations. The tour gave students inside look at the systems that keep power flowing safely and reliably, as well as a chance to see first hand how our teams manage the equipment that powers local communities. Ausgrid’s proud to sponsor the University of Newcastle's student competition teams initiative, fostering hands-on experience and inspiring the next generation of engineers. A huge thank you to our Transmission Substations North teams for leading the tour and sharing their valuable insights! #Ausgrid #engineer #safety

Sharing our expertise in electric vehicle charging is one way we are supporting the adoption of EV's across our network. Darren Fitzpatrick, Ausgrid’s Senior Development Manager for EVCI spoke today at the All Energy Australia Conference delivering a Clean Energy Council Master Class on Connecting EVCI to Ausgrid’s network. Darren’s presentation covered the process for connecting EVCI to Ausgrid’s network and how we are improving our connections process for EVCI. It was also great to share an overview of the contestable connections framework in NSW and best tariffs for EVCI. Thank you to All Energy Council for hosting this fantastic event. #Ausgrid #EV #EVCI

Our CEO Marc England spoke on the Unlocking Network Investment panel at The Australian Financial Review Energy and Climate Summit today, where industry leaders explored the future of energy networks. Marc joined Clare Savage from the Australian Energy Regulator, Dominique van den Berg from Energy Networks Australia, and Cameron Garnsworthy of SunCable Australia in an insightful discussion moderated by Angela Macdonald-Smith from the Australian Financial Review. The conversation focused on critical topics, including the opportunities which sit in the exiting network to drive a cheaper, faster and more equitable transition, the roll out of EVs and Community Batteries and the growing impact of data centres. At Ausgrid, we are proud to be leading these important initiatives, driving the transition towards a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy network. Thank you to the AFR for organising this event! #Ausgrid #netzero #energy #sustainability

At Ausgrid, we’re embracing drone technology to boost emergency response and strengthen network resilience ahead of bushfire season. This year, drones will inspect 72,000 poles in bushfire-prone areas, capturing high-resolution images for preventive maintenance. As one of the first in Australia to use drones exclusively for bushfire inspections, we're improving safety, cutting fuel use, and minimising environmental impact—all part of our commitment to innovation and sustainability. By identifying risks early, we’re working to keep our community safe and network reliable as we head into the warmer months. #Ausgrid #Innovation #Safety #Drones #Sustainability

Today, we’re reflecting on how far we’ve come—and celebrating the dedication of our crews, past and present. Check out our crews from 1952 working on overhead service wires in Pennant Hills. Fast forward to today, and our Wallsend team in Dora Creek are continuing the essential work of maintaining our network, from replacing poles to addressing hazards. As we look back, we’re also pushing forward, ensuring the resilience and innovation of our network. #Ausgrid #FlashbackFriday
