The theme for this year's National Diabetes Week is 'Unite in the Fight for Tech'; shining a light on the impact of diabetes technology and what needs to be done to improve access. Selection of the nominee is made on the basis of the candidate’s significant, fundamental contributions to diabetes (whether in research, clinical practice, leadership, mentorship or other), the lasting impact of these contributions to the sector, and the demonstration of a lifetime commitment to diabetes. The Australian Diabetes Society (ADS) invites applications for the 2024 ADS Ranji and Amara Wikramanayake Clinical Diabetes Research Award from endocrinology/diabetes clinicians who are members of the ADS and are up to 20 years’ post-doctoral degree or equivalent. The award is to recognise significant contributions to diabetes research by a clinician and to support further advancement of those achievements. Applications can be nominated by financial members of the ADS or by self-nomination. The award is for $40,000 together with a commemorative plaque. Applications close on Monday, 6 May 2024. The Kellion Research Foundation and the Australian Diabetes Society invite applications for the 2024 ADS Kellion Award for an Australian who has demonstrated innovative leadership and has made an outstanding and highly original contribution to the advancement of knowledge in diabetes research, clinical or service areas in Australia. Nominations may be self-initiated, initiated by colleagues or by organisations.
